JVC XV-N310B, SUPER SLIM PROGRESSIVE SCAN DVD PLAYER

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Good Product.......2006-06-23

Based on the reviews here, I wasn't expecting much. I purchased this item on 8 June 2005 and have been waiting for it to crap out on me. My Sharp TV is dying out before this thing.

I haven't had a chance to try out all the different formats but it plays DVDs and Music CDs just fine.

I put this thing through hours of constant play and it's performed very well considering. When I say constant, I mean "I left it on Repeat Play all night and all day long" constant. Pretty good for the fifty bucks I paid for it.

As I recall, I also got very fast delivery too from Crutchfield(?) Electronics. I'll certainly check out JVC in the future.

1 out of 5 stars Died after 11 months.......2006-05-09

I bought this player on 05/27/2005 and was very happy with it. Unfortunately, as of 04/29/2005, it has stopped working. I typically watch about 5~10 DVDs a month and I don't consider that very heavy use. NOT pleased.

1 out of 5 stars I've returned two --the video output hasn't worked on either.......2005-06-16

The first one I received, my cable man installer told me the video and audio output on the unit were defective. So I returned it, got a second one, and on the 2nd one, the audio worked fine, but the video output was defective. I am not trying for a 3rd time. If I decide a need a DVD player, I will spend the extra bucks to get a decent one. Don't waste your time and money on this product.

1 out of 5 stars Poor choice if you also want to use for CDs.......2005-06-12

I bought this player because it can also play all kinds of cd: dvd, music, MP3, photo, etc. Unfortunately, it fares very poorly with music cd's.

Music cd's will skip or stutter towards the end of longer cd's. There is also a high pitched squeal coming from the player as it plays audio cd's. I tried returning it to have it repaired (did this TWICE), but they were unable to fix it. Each time I returned it, they took over a month to work on it, and then return it. By the time I had returned it twice, the rather short warrantee on parts&service expired.

Again, it is fine for dvd, and even for mp3 cds. This may also be a particular promlem with my player, but I assume not, since the jvc repair center was unable to fix it twice.

5 out of 5 stars Extraordinary JVC Value!.......2005-04-23

This DVD player is so much faster than my old one. Gone are the days when I had to load the disc, and then wait, and wait, and wait... Almost instantly I get a picture.

And, it's a great picture. I have a new HDTV, so I use progressive scan. But, what I really like is JVC has a seven mode picture adjustment built right into the DVD player. This lets me tweek the picture until it's perfect, without changing up the picture settings I like for my TV tuner.

The remote is very comfortable, and the build quality is surprising for something that costs so little. I replaced a $400.00 DVD player that was four years old, and honestly, this one is way better in almost every way.
