The included rechargeable NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) battery offers up to 3 hours battery life so you can watch even the longest movies and not worry about losing power. Composite-video and stereo analog-audio inputs and outputs let you hook up additional AV gear for viewing through the D1708, including camcorders and gaming consoles. All audio and video inputs and outputs are of the minijack .125-inch size, so compatible adapter cables are required (a combination stereo analog audio and composite-video cable is supplied).

The D1708 also comes with an AC/DC power adapter and a DC vehicle cigarette-lighter power adapter.

We were fortunate to get this DVD player on sale for less than $100 with shipping. It has been an amazing addition to our electronic collection!! It is superb for travel in the car. We also used it for our 2 year old while on a recent cruise. It comes with ALL the accessories that you need including two sets of headphones, power adapter, car adapter, rechargeable battery, straps for carrying and securing, and more! It plays all of our DVDS with NO SKIPPING at all - even in the car!

I have only one negative comment about this player... the volume is quite low when on the highest setting. It really is a 'personal' player and probably wouldn't be too good for more than one person in a car unless you use the headphones.

Other than that, I think this player is an AMAZING value for money. I would have been satisfied paying $150+ for this little gem!

I guess you get what you pay for. The battery life was not good at all...I'm not even sure if I made it past 2 hours. Really disappointing since I wanted the DVD player to last on a long flight. I guess if you are not running on battery power it would serve the purpose though.

I bought this for my daughter after researching others. For the money it's great. My daughter cannot stop watching her favorite DVD's and CD's on it...and it worked very well in the car. I really likes the straps that make it so stable while driving and the dual headsets.

I purchased 2 of the DVD Bonus Packs for my nieces and were thrilled when they arrived. They were neatly packed and everything was accounted for.
The Bonus Pack is a Priced Very Reasonably and if you would have purhased
items separately you would have paid alot more $$$ than what was paid
for the Bonus Pack with all inclusive. With free shipping to boot definitely would recommend to buy.

poorly portable, prone to sudden failure.......2007-06-01

Was acceptable player for the money until battery suddenly failed - completely refused to charge, rendering player useless. Replacement batteries are more expensive than a new unit. Even if cheap, the Audiovox DVD player is not very portable and not worth your money. We used the player gently and only a few times over the course of 18 months before the sudden failure.

Okay, if you don't want it to be a portable.......2007-03-28

My mom bought this particular portable player for my son because we were going to be on some long flights and she thought he'd handle it better if he could watch a few dvds. The picture and audio quality aren't that great, but not bad for the price. The only problem is that we can NOT get the rechargeable battery to charge. Therefore, it is useless for the purpose it was bought for. It still places if plugged into an electrical outlet, but there is no way to take it on the plane. I have not been able to find a replacement battery, but am assuming it might be less expensive to buy a whole new dvd player.

Major quality control issues.......2007-01-20

Bought one of these at Sears and was initially happy with it. But after a couple weeks of light use, the battery refused to charge. So I exchanged it at the store for a new unit. Used that one, again gently and according to the manual, for about a week--then it ceased working altogether. The player wouldn't turn on, whether on battery or mains power. Audiovox clearly has either design or quality control problems with this model. I suggest selecting a different model, and perhaps a different brand.

You get what you pay for.......2006-12-28

Well, have we not leaned yet that you get what you pay for. For low cost items which are manufacutred in China or other low cost countires, the qualify control is very poor, may be one of thousands of parts are checked and inspected. Others are just sent. Our great USA companies, particulary, internet companies like Amazon buys them for cheaper price, so that what you can expect. Ok,if you get lucky. May be to buy extended 3 years warranty for products like this could help.
