With the VE1510DV flat-panel TV/DVD player combo unit, Audiovox delivers an eye-pleasing, space-saving balance between feature-rich styling, high technology, and affordability. As a TV, the VE1510DV offers a broad, 15.1-inch screen with XGA (1,024 x 768) resolution, computer compatibility, built-in stereo speakers, and a picture-in-picture (PIP) function that lets you watch TV while working on a computer. But the unit also incorporates a full-function DVD player and three detachable speakers (to be used for center and left/right surround), making it nearly a complete compact home theater. If you're into burning your own CDs of custom MP3 music mixes and JPEG image files from your digital camera, the VE1510DV will play these as well.
An audio/video surround receiver and a powered subwoofer are required to enjoy Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround sound, though the unit will decode and amplify Dolby and DTS audio through its front two speakers and through its stereo (left/right RCA) analog-audio output. You can hang the VE1510DV on a wall or set it on a shelf.
