First of all I tried to tuned in the TV channels, and only 3/5 of the commercial channels worked. Secondly I try and put a DVD in and the remote control is not very receptive. You repeatedly push the button and nothing happens when you try and use it. Thirdly it is slow and sluggish. Fourthly, now it won't accept NTSC and only PAL DVD's! Even though they were fine in the past. I put a NTSC DVD in, and the screen quality looked very poor and went green and now the VHS video side will work!
This is a lemon this brand! I'll never buy off these cons ever again!

Seemed like a great value at first, but DVD player stopped working within a week. If you chance it, save your receipt!
Great Bang for the Buck.......2005-07-15
I'm not looking for anything fancy, but I want something to play the media I use. This unit plays +R's without a problem and does a nice job with store-bought dvd's as well (my combo Toshiba SD-K220S started having a problem sticking in the middle of the movie).
The finish could have be nicer and I'd given it 5 stars.
Great idea, poor implementation.......2005-07-10
I bought 2 of these units thinking I could replace my VCR and DVD player. The good news is that yes, it performs both functions just like my old VCR and my old DVD player, but no more! Oh, it does play back from my Flash cards, but I didn't buy it for that.
On the negative side, it won't play any of my VCDs or anything recorded on DVD-R, it also won't play anything on RW media either.
While it does do what it claims: plays both VCR tapes and DVDs, don't expect it to play your home made DVDs of your computer. It seems to only playback commercial DVDs. I didn't bother checking to see if it could playback MP3s since I didn't buy it for that.
I have a Sony DVD player that seems to playback everything I put in it. I am very disappointed with this Samsung player. Great idea! Poor implementation!
A great machine.......2005-06-25
I got this from a big box store for a good price (less than $100). It's a good DVD player. I like the flash reader for my digital camera. It's hard to fast forward with the DVD, and the display panel for the DVD needs work. You cant tell what chapter you're on, and I miss that.

Excellent buy.......2006-04-17
I haven'nt bought a remanufactured electronics product before, so I was a bit sceptical. But I am amazed at the crisp quality of this product. For the price, I took a chance and so far (3 weeks), I haven't had any problems. The player looks elegant with easy user interface. Product appeared to be factory sealed with a 90-day warranty.
VHS compartment is defective.......2006-04-14
I am giving this product 1 star due to the incapacity of the VHS player. I had it less the 24 hrs and it would not eject the tape that I and the family was watching. I called Samsung Corp. about this problem, and they told me I had to pay for the maintenance because they sold an expired warranty. I bought one from NEW Companies, but they wouldn't accept that warranty. This is the last product from Samsung, that I will ever buy. The price alone on this product is exaggerated because the product don't live up to it's potential. And plus it is supposed to be brand new/remanufactured. I'll stick with my Panasonics, or Sony's from now on.
