Yamaha DV-C5650 Progressive Scan DVD Player
Yamaha DV-C5650 Progressive Scan DVD Player
Product Description
From the Manufacturer
Yamaha's DV-S5650 progressive scan DVD player handles DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, CD-R, CD-RW, VCD, and MP3 playback, making it a valuable addition to your equipment arsenal. The device's CD-R/RW compatibility is particularly helpful to the many users making their own CD-R/RW discs on their computers or digital recorders (each CD-R/RW disc can hold about 12 hours of MP3 music). In addition, the DV-S5650 can read data from DVDs--which hold huge amounts of digital information--and transmit it to other system components without losing any quality. The device uses such sophisticated circuitry as a 10-bit video D/A converter and a 96 kHz, 24-bit audio D/A converter during conversion.
The DV-S5650 enhances playback quality with such features as Yamaha's Chroma Upsampling Error circuit, which greatly reduces the jagged/streaky effect on the edges of brightly colored objects--a problem shared by almost all DVD players. The high-performance laser pickup focuses independently to provide top-quality Video CD, audio CD, and DVD performance. Sound is augmented by the 96 kHz/24-bit compatible audio digital-to-analog converter, which ensures superior sound performance. Yamaha's high-quality, 10-bit video digital-to-analog converter guarantees the finest possible video performance, as does the component video progressive scan output.
User features include 1.33x, 2x, and 4x zoom, which let you enlarge an image and take a close look at any scene. Use the Picture Fine Tuning to adjust saturation, brightness, and contrast, and Shuffle Play to play tracks randomly, repeat them in a variety of ways, freeze any frame, and zoom the image to three different sizes. The unique screensaver feature dims the screen 75 percent when in the pause mode. The player also can interrupt a movie while you select a specific feature, and then pick up where you left off with 5-Disc Memory. For listening or viewing flexibility, the player lets you program songs in a particular order or at random. Parents also have the option of denying play of any specific DVD and VCD. Finally, the device features a well-designed remote control keypad for ease of use.
In addition to analog outputs, the DV-S5650 provides optical and coaxial outputs for Dolby Digital, DTS, MPEG, and PM sound, along with a separate subwoofer output. It also provides one composite video output, one S-Video output, and a component video output.
