Product Description
Amazon.com Product Description
Full-featured home entertainment systems don't get much more affordable or much more fun than the Philip MX6050D. The system includes a Dolby Digital/DTS-capable surround sound receiver with an integrated single-disc-DVD/CD player, as well as 4 compact satellite speakers, a 5-driver slim center speaker, and a dedicated low-frequency subwoofer for full throttle theater excitement. The DVD drive plays DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, and VCD/SVCD, in addition to MP3 CDs and JPEG image CDs.
Video features include picture zoom, multi-angle viewing, and parental lock. The system's 80-watts-per-channel receiver (with 100 watts driving the system's 8-inch passive subwoofer) delivers a total of 500 watts, and its Class D amplifier was designed with special attention to the extreme dynamics possible in DVD movie presentations. A Class D Amplifier is a "switching" amplifier that converts a low-level, analog, audio input signal into a high power, digital output for enhanced digital sound quality.
The MX6050D's four 2-way satellite speakers and center-channel speaker are acoustically designed to match the tonal characteristics of the receiver. Front left, right, and center speakers are magnetically shielded to prevent any interference with your TV's image. The sixth speaker is a passive subwoofer with a twin-port bass tube that enhances the speaker's delivery by letting it move more air at carefully tuned frequencies. The tuner offers 40 FM/AM presets.
The receiver features 2 analog-audio inputs and one analog-audio output, along with a coaxial digital-audio output (great for exporting audio to a CD or minidisc recorder). Three video outputs (including the primary monitor output) accommodate a range of televisions, from sets with standard composite-video terminals to sets offering high-resolution component-video inputs.
Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the MX6050D is equipped to deliver the full potential of your DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.
Philips's Cinema Center Speaker magnifies your movies while ensuring that what you hear is both natural and realistic. Cinema Center Speaker delivers spacious sound and brings a wider sweet spot through no less than 5 drivers positioned at different angles. These drivers give more depth in sound by clearly distinguishing front from background sound and action from dialogue so even the slightest sound detail will not pass by unnoticed.
Color-coded connectors provide a simple and user-friendly way to connect the speakers and subwoofer to the center unit of the home entertainment system simply by plugging the connectors in the matching colored-interface at the rear of the center unit.
What's in the Box
DVD player/integrated surround amplifier, 5 satellite speakers, a passive subwoofer (powered by DVD/amplifier unit), a remote control, remote batteries, a user's manual, an FM wire antenna, an AM loop antenna, speaker brackets and screws, all requisite cabling.
From the Manufacturer
For a home entertainment system that is powerful and capable of delivering excellent sound, look no further than the Remanufactured Philips MX6050D DVD Home Theater System. Dolby Pro Logic II provides the MX6050D with five channels of surround processing from any stereo source. The MX6050D's class-D amplifier is a switching amplifier that converts a low-level, analog, audio input signal into a high-power, digital output for enhanced digital sound quality.
The MX6050D's magnifies your movies while ensuring that what you hear is both natural and realistic. The Cinema Center Speaker delivers spacious sound and brings a wider sweet spot through no less than 5 drivers positioned at different angles. These drivers give more depth in sound by clearly distinguishing front from background sound and action from dialogue, so even the slightest sound detail will not pass by unnoticed.
By employing the EasyFit connector system, the MX6050D sets-up in three quick and easy steps. Color-coded connectors provide a simple and user-friendly way to connect the speakers and subwoofer to the center unit of the home entertainment system. This Philips home theater system also employs progressive scan to ensure the ultimate in viewing clarity. Progressive scan doubles the vertical resolution of the image, resulting in a noticeably sharper picture. Instead of sending the field with the odd lines to the screen first, followed by the field with the even lines, both fields are written simultaneously. This results in a flicker-free high-resolution image creation, giving you the best possible viewing experience.
The MX6050D's tuner offers 40 FM/AM preset stations for convenient tuning, and its DVD drive plays DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, and VCD/SVCD, in addition to MP3 CDs and JPEG image CDs. The MX6050D has matching satellite speakers that reproduce the front and rear left/right channels from 5.1 surround-sound programs (such as Dolby Digital or DTS), while a thin, wide, unobtrusive center-channel speaker sits atop your TV or shelf to place dialogue and other critical sounds directly in front of you.
This home entertainment system delivers a total of 500-watts of power through its amplifier, comes with its own 45-key remote for added convenience, and includes a local and on-screen display.
