Amazon.com Product Description
Incredibly affordable and uniquely designed to play your digital media, Malata's super-slim DVD-806 lets you spin your homemade digital music and photo CDs for listening through your stereo or surround system and viewing on your television.

The player is also ready for your favorite movies, of course, in either standard NTSC or in the PAL format (region 1 or all-region discs only). Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the DVD-806 can deliver the full potential of your DVDs through its advanced MDDI progressive scanning. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.

Top-of-the-line component-video outputs (switchable between 480p and standard 480i) help minimize digital and line-scan artifacts on compatible advanced televisions, while composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television.

A set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio outputs (one each of RCA coaxial and Toslink optical) for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver, or decoded and sent to "Dolby-ready" receivers via a set of 6 RCA analog outputs.

A parental lock keeps young eyes off mature content.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars avoid malata.......2007-04-07

i purchaced a malata dvd player/home theater back in 2004. we had to send it in for repair twice and returned several speakers that failed. the second time we sent in our unit for repair they did not send it back. it has been almost three years since we sent it in the second time. if you want a dvd player that will work and has a good company that will back it up do not buy a Malata unit.

5 out of 5 stars Great product.......2007-02-07

I have had this machine for some time now...Never had a problem..It is being used everyday by my son and myself..Never a Hiccup..This machine obviously is no longer available...What a Pity!!!!....Barton

3 out of 5 stars Still works - but............2006-07-01

Bought it last year (March 05) and so far I have no problems in playing DVDs. But anything else - it will choke. VCDs, Audio CDs etc the unit will freeze for few seconds after every 20seconds of playing. These CDs are playing well in other DVD/CD players.

It could be a firmware issue - I am searching for updates now.

4 out of 5 stars ONE YEAR AND STILL KICKING!!!.......2006-01-02

I purchased this DVD Player just over one year ago and it is still working perfectly! I use it almost every day to play at least one DVD, and have not had any problems. The tray only opens 75% of the way, but I have no trouble inserting or removing the DVD's. There are no children in my household, if there were I would be concerned about the tray braking, this is not a concern for me as I treat all my electronics with CARE.

P.S. Well as of 2/27/2006 it gave up the ghost, not a bad run for the price, but must subtract one star. Now a 3 star!

4 out of 5 stars Cheap but good.......2005-11-22

It is cheap but purformance is good. The remote is a poor quality one and also the box is not durable. But the picture quality is good. I think the electronic parts are good so the performance is ok. Handle it with care and it should last long.
