Pioneer DVC603 DVD Player
Product Description
From the Manufacturer
The Pioneer DV-C603 DVD player is a five-disc DVD/CD carousel changer that gives you the benefit of a CD changer plus the ability to play the latest in DVD. Let's put it this way--why have two components when you can have both CD and DVD functionality in one unit? Step up to a great CD changer and DVD player at the same time!
This player utilizes 10-bit/27 MHz video D/A conversion to provide rapid processing of the video signal with less signal loss, ensuring maximum image resolution and images free of artifacts, while a 480-progressive signal output provides 480-line progressive (non-interlaced) full frame resolution performance to compatible 480-p capable displays. The result is a more filmlike image, with enhanced brightness, contrast, color resolution, and fidelity. As DVDs are mastered in 480-p, you can enjoy the flicker-free images the movies are engineered with.
Component-video outputs, when connected to televisions equipped with compatible inputs, provide the highest level of video signal transfer quality available today. By dividing the video signal into component elements, component-video outputs deliver a remarkable improvement in picture detail at maximum resolution, with unmatched color purity and edge detail. Color blooming and "hanging dots" are eliminated, along with other NTSC artifacts.
Dolby Digital 5.1 channel surround sound compatibility delivers all the incredible sound that Hollywood can put on a DVD to a receiver equipped with a Dolby Digital decoder. Dolby Digital provides six separate discrete audio channels: left, right and center front, right and left surround, and a low frequency subwoofer channel as a listener option. Dolby Digital is the first perceptual coding scheme designed specifically to code multichannel digital audio. It divides sizes optimized with respect to the frequency selectivity of human hearing. This makes it possible to sharply filter coding noise and reduce data consumption while delivering dynamic theater-quality sound. Unlike Dolby Pro Logic surround, Dolby Digital channels are entirely discrete, with five full-frequency (20 Hz-20 KHz) channels and one low-frequency effects subwoofer (20-120 Hz) channel. DVD players with Dolby Digital capability are also compatible with Pro Logic surround and two-channel stereo systems.
The Dolby Digital and DTS optical and coaxial outputs, when connected to a receiver or amplifier with a Dolby Digital or DTS decoder, bring you the phenomenal experience of video through five discrete full-range channels. Stunning sound effects and crystal-clear dialogue are the most notable results of this connectivity option.
Video black level control allows you to achieve remarkable contrast from your DVD player by allowing not only the NTSC standard black level, but delivering a "blacker-than-black" setting that produces incredible detail and vibrant colors.
The 96 kHz/24-bit audio D/A converter maximizes DVD and CD audio performance capability, providing smoother, less digitized transitions, and richer sonic texture.
Full-function remote control provides complete control of the unit from the comfort and convenience of your chair.
