The Pioneer Elite DV-47Ai surpasses the performance of traditional DVD players by also offering advanced multichannel audio playback for DVD-Audio and SACD formats. These two next-generation audio formats offer up to six channels of high-resolution audio encoded onto either a DVD or Super Audio CD, delivering a pure sound that's far superior to the audio produced by traditional compact discs. As a video player, the unit is also topnotch, employing Pioneer's PureCinema progressive scan--which processes video data at a full 480 lines of horizontal resolution per frame--and a 108 MHz/12-bit video digital-to-analog converter.
The DV-47Ai is compatible with most present and future audio and video types, with playback for CDs, CD-Rs, DVD-Video, DVD-R/RWs, and MP3s, in addition to handling DVD-Audio and SACD formats. The unit's triple 192 kHz/24-bit audio digital-to-analog converters enhance the sound quality, as do the built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoders. The crisp sound is passed to a receiver through the DV-47Ai's dual digital i-Link outputs.
Other features include bass management, which controls the amount of bass sent to your speakers, slow motion and step playback, and an easy-to-read graphical user interface with a setup navigator. The unit's gold-plated component-video, S-video, and composite outputs ensure advanced connection to a number of other components, as do the gold-plated optical and coaxial digital audio outputs and the six-channel output. The DV-47Ai comes with a remote with a jog/joystick controller and is Energy Star compliant.
