The 15-inch Sylvania 6615LF4 LCD TV is a great choice for smaller rooms, like the kitchen or den. And because it's EDTV-ready (Enhanced Definition TV) as well as for watching flicker-free, vibrant imagery from DVD movies. It's capable of displaying not only television signals in 480p (480-pixel progressive, with optional tuner), but also from video sources such as progressive-scan DVD players. This offers a far better resolution and picture than playing a DVD through an interlaced video screen from a standard CRT set.

The 6615LF4 has a 640 x 480-pixel resolution, 4:3 standard aspect ratio, 170-degree horizontal viewing angle, 16 ms (millisecond) response rate, 500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and a 500:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) The 3-line digital comb filter enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt).

It comes with an integrated stand in the back that folds into the TV to enable wall mounting (with optional hardware). It includes built-in stereo speakers that produce 1 watt per channel (for 2 watts of total power). It provides the following connections:

I got this TV as a present from my parents about a year ago. They picked one out online at Home Cheapo that was actually a good tv and pretty inexpensive, but we got the old bait and switch and I ended up with this thing. First, you will have to spend about 50 bucks to get a wall mount for it because the picture frame set-up is useless. It leans so far back that you nearly have to be over the tv to see anything. Tuner is wicked slow. It takes a good 5 seconds between channel changes. Not good if you like to flip between 2 shows at once. Picture quality is okay, but not the best I have seen. The remote is terrible and very fragile. Don't ever lose it and don't ever drop it because Sylvania is not listed in most universal remote manuals.

The TV isn't so bad if you don't mind spending the 50 bucks or more on a wall mount and if you don't mind getting up to change the channels when your remote breaks.

Nice picture and decent viewing angles..2 video hookups with one S-video mounted so they won't interfere with a wall mount.

Cons, like one reviewer said, the tuner is slow, slow, slow.
The remote is cheap with tiny, poorly arranged buttons.
The sound is hollow, like it's coming from the bottom of a can.
The setup menu is non-intuitive.
Leans back too far for my taste.

The Sylvania has very good picture quality. The sound is okay for a small TV. The biggest drawback is the poor remote control. It's cheap, the buttons are small, and the button placement is different from most remotes.

The Good: This TV has a very good picture for such a low cost set. I am truely impressed with it.

The Bad: The tuner in this thing is RIDICULOUSLY slow. To the point you hit channel up or down and wait at least a second for it to tune the channel. It is really quite annoying if you are a channel flipper such as myself.

The Ugly: The remote. This thing exudes cheap. The other thing about it is that Sylvania, in their infinite wisdom, decided to break convention and make the UP and RIGHT arrows for channel up and down, and the LEFT and DOWN arrows for volume up and down. Every other remote on the planet does UP and DOWN for chan and LEFT and RIGHT for volume so when I go from one of my other TVs to this one, I will inevitably turn down the volume instead of changing the channel.

Overall, I'd give it a 3 because the picture quality is good and you've got to expect certain cheap annoying things from a low cost TV such as this.
