The 50HP82 50-inch plasma television is primed for movie and sports fans, as well as for use as a centerpiece for home theater and home computing. The set offers a widescreen, portrait-thin chassis, full high-definition quality, and picture improvements for interlaced video signals (such as those from VCRs, cable boxes, and non-progressive-scan DVD players). Heading the great features is IDSC Digital 720P, which coverts all 480i and 480p signals (as from progressive-scan DVD players and DTV set-top boxes) to 720p.
