Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars The little MP3 player that could.......2007-03-24

I have had this MP3 player for YEARS!!! I never thought I'd be writing a review for it but I just recently bought an 8GB iPod Nano, which is awesome, but not exactly the best thing for working out. I've run a lot of races and a few marathons with this and also an iPod Shuffle (which is great too).

I can tell you for certain that for shorter runs (under 1-1/2 hours) I definitely prefer this to either of the iPods. Why? It's easier to find a song with the controls, it has a simple yet informative display, and it has just as good of sound. I really like that it has physical buttons that have to be pushed so you don't end up scrolling through a gazillion songs like the Nano, and you can see what # song is playing, unlike the Shuffle. I like to pick certain songs like slower ones to cool down or fast-beat ones to get over a hill, and I can easily do this with this player. I remember I ran a race once with my Shuffle and was a little over a mile from the finish when I fat-fingered it into shuffle mode and had to mess around with it in a much-exhausted state to get it back off shuffle. You don't have this problem with the Kazoo.

The drawbacks:
- I have 64MB card in it right now so I have 21 songs on it. Obviously you can pack a lot more onto other types of MP3 players, and how many songs depends on the length of each song. But even if each song was only 3 min long that's still over an hour of music.
- The plastic carrying pouch that connects it to the wrist/arm strap was fairly cheap, but still held together for years. I just wish I could easily purchase another one.
- Although I haven't changed out the songs on it in years, I do remember loading the songs to be somewhat of a pain. Again, that was at least two years ago so things may have improved since then.
- Finally, battery life. Althought the battery life is adequate, this little guy does require you to keep track of how much battery you'll need before you head out. But if you find yourself low on juice, unlike the two iPods I mentioned above (their internal batteries charge via USB computer connections), you simply pop in 2 new "AAA" batteries . . . or even 1 if that's all you have in a pinch.

More pros:
- This is one tough little hombre. For years I've tossed it into bags, tossed it down on the seat or floor of my vehicle after a run and used it quite a bit through all kinds of weather (I've never submersed it water though) without ever worrying about it working or breaking.
- In all the years I've had this player I've gone through a MYRIAD of headphones (I just spent a small fortune on a pair of Sennheiser's) but this little guy has never let me down or broken, as long as I had batteries for it.
- Again, the battery life isn't the best, but it's definitely not terrible. And like I pointed out above, being able to toss in a couple "AAA"s can be a lifesaver when you really want to use your MP3 player now!

4 out of 5 stars Too good.......2006-09-24

I've had this MP3 player for a quite a while and I've never had any problems with it. I really want to get an IPOD but i can't justify the expense since this little device has been around for three years and fits all of my music needs for the fourty-five minutes I spend at the gym and two hours I spend bored to death at my daughter's baseball games. So, after three years I really wish it would break down. Only thing that broke is the plastic deal you strap on your arm when you're working out. I really wish I knew where i could buy an extra one.

5 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT PRODUCT.......2006-02-15

I bought this back in 2001 and I never had any problem with it. Reading other people's reviews, complaining about this product, seriously don't know much about computers. It is such an easy mp3 to use, drivers are available to download, always used it on XP, no problem. I only use 64mb MMC but am able to listen for over an hour of music. Suggestion....convert your file from mp3 to mp3pro, it uses less memory but the quality of the sound is just as great.

5 out of 5 stars What's the deal?.......2005-05-01

I bought this little thing ages ago. Today, I still use it. I have Windows XP and the Kazoo works fine. I've also added a 128 MB MMC memory card into the device and have filled it. Works fine for me. The complaints about operating systems and low memory haven't been a problem for me. Only thing I didn't like is the memorcy card slot ONLY accepts MulitMedia Cards and not the usually compatible SD cards.

3 out of 5 stars Needs More Memory.......2004-08-14

Every thing is good but can't fit more than 10 quality songs on it.
