I was the geekiest person, but then I bought Rio one 64mb mp3 player. It hold songs and dose everything you imagine it to do.everyone was like oooh he has a mp3 player you are now officially the coollest kid in school even though i had to save for 2 year i finally have one fron all that babysitting i official call myself "ryanthecoolkid" this thing can change your life

9 hours to install this? I don't think so! It took me a while but not even close to 9 hours...maybe an hour at most! I even think you can get away with NOT installed RealOne Player! Just make sure you download the firmware version on Sonic Blue's web site according to your part number. You should be up and running in no time!

Now for the bad and good points:

Bad:

- The software that comes with this are so obsolete you might as well throw it out.
- Can't tell which song is playing from the file
- Sketchy "Getting Started Guide"
- Slow transfer rates by default

Good:

- This IS somewhat upgradeable up to 128 megabytes
- You can fit up about 18 or so mp3 songs in 112k
- Great if you want something that has hit songs you don't care about which one that plays.
- Has random and repeat modes not common on more sophisicated player
- Display does show the bitrate at least
- Has a belt clip so you can jog with it on your hip.

If you are waiting at the airport, in the backseat of your car on a long trip, or jogging, this is a really good mp3 player to consider.

Wow, I have this mp3 player...the problem is: I bought it 1999, and it was then called the Rio PMP 300.

This version, the Rio One, is basically an upgrade in memory of a five year old player. Same media, same case, different colors. I have a lot of problems with mine, but mostly flakey, annoying problems. It works...sometimes.

So, be forewarned: this is a first-generation mp3 player. It is the digital audio equivalent of the dodo. Nice and meaty, but don't expect it to last.

Mine just stopped working after about 1 month. I returned it, and got another one that stopped working after about 3 months. The batteries lasted almost as long as the player. I now have a Nomad Muvo (64mb), which I've had for about 2 years, and love. I highly recommend the Muvo for someone looking for a small, reliable, mp3 player. It's actually less expensive than this Rio junk.

bad would be a good word for this product. I am writing this in the first day that I have this product. It sucks really bad. It sais that it costs $100 regularly.Ha ha ha, I wouldn't pay 50 cents for it, let alone $30.
