Doesn't Support Protected Files.......2006-01-12

I purchased this product because it supports both WMA and MP3 formats. However, while loading music to it I noticed it only accepts non-protected WMA files (those I ripped from my own CD's) and DOES NOT accept the protected files I purchased off the internet at Walmart.com and MSN Music. I must say I am disappointed. I go to the effort of actually downloading music legally and paying for it and it doesn't work with this player. Am I doing something wrong or is it just a "You get what you pay for" since this player was inexpensive compared to my RIO at $150 which does support protected files.
