An antenna built into the supplied headset ensures crystal-clear sound quality, and a timer lets you set the H10 to record radio programs with real-time MP3 encoding at specific times of your choosing.

The H10 is PlaysForSure compatible and fully integrated with Microsoft Windows Media Player 10, which makes it even easier to enjoy your digital media. The disappearing MP3 player.......2006-07-03

I have a 5gb but a lot of the H10's are having the same problem. I can play all of the songs that I owned myself but everything through the subscription service has run out and can't be reinstalled. I've done a little research about the disappearing MP3 player and it appears to be a problem that is affecting a lot of the H10's and 1 other model I can't remember right now and iRiver can't figure it out; although I've been told they are trying desperately to find the bug....So buy with caution....

Nothing but GREAT customer service & a great player........2005-10-25

This is my second iRiver player. The first was a flash player, but when I out grew the limited capacity of a 256 meg player, I went into search mode. After reading many reviews of various players, they kept me going back to iRiver and their H10. The biggest plus to me, compared to the over rated iPod, was the removable/replaceable battery pack. It's a whole lot cheaper and easier to replace it than iPod's you've got to mail us the players option. I too, like some other people, had the misfortune of a problem my H10 early on. Within 30 days of purchasing the unit, the scroll bar stopped working. Following the advise on the website, I re-flashed the hard drive with the latest firmware with no result. I then called the 800 customer support line, which was answered in a reasonable length of time. The customer service agent had me jump through the firmware installation hoop again with the same result. To make this long story short, I ended up mailing the unit back to iRiver the following Monday morning, and then having a NEW replacement in my hands exactly 1 week later. Upon receipt of my defective unit, they UPS overnighted me my player.

If you're looking for an alternate to the over rated iPod, this would be the player to get. Great sound, easy operations, great features and smart looking to boot.

WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD FOR AN MP3--BEWARE!!.......2005-09-06

Okay, I bought this player because of a little extra capacity, and it seemed better than the Creative Labs player. I wanted to use it with Napster. Boy was I WRONG..... After TWO days of use, when I turned it on it said that 'critical files were missing'. I went to the website for help. That is the WRONG place to go if you have an Iriver. It gave me a specific fix for my problem; I guess many people have had it. So much for quality control. The problem was the firmware update didnt work. So, I went for further support. The 'support robot' on the site kept bringing me back to the firmware update that didnt work. Okay, so I call the 800 'tech support' number. I got NO ANSWER several times! No answer on an 800 tech support line? WOW! Now I'm pissed. An 800 number that doesn't work and a tech support robot that doesnt help. So, I had to E-mail my issue to the 'e-mail tech support. That was 8 days ago; I have received no answer, to repeated e-mails asking for help. So, now I have to work with my credit card company to not pay this charge, and I cant believe that it had to come to this. DONT BUY THIS PLAYER IF YOU WANT SUPPORT. Its a crap shoot; it may work fine, but if it doesnt you are on your own--no one at Iriver is interested in helping, and they KNOW about the problem...and I can only guess that they KNOW their fix doesnt work. WORST experience I have had with any electronic brand folks--stay away!!!!!

If you can't use a computer buy an ipod, but if you're pretty good and you're really into music then buy this. The sound quality is awesome. The whole "sync" issue for me was easy to figure out. If you're using a subscription service (which are all really good in my opinion), you just have to be careful and know what your doing. I had some problems but I figured them all out. Then again, I also write computer applications for work, so I might not be the "average" user.
