Cheaply made - don't waste your money.......2001-05-03

I bought one of these about a year ago (not from Amazon) and had problems immediately. Within a month the volume control went haywire. By six months it barely played a CD without problems. I am now replacing it after one year because it has stopped playing altogether. I will never buy a Philips boombox again.

Cool.......2000-08-06

This Bombox is so totally cool. It plays cd's, tapes, and the radio. The color is so cool too it blue and purple mixed togeather. It is easy to turn the volume up the the perfect place because to it's volume nob unlike the buttons you have to push. It is great to bring to the beach because it is light, easy to carry, and you can put in batteries. And if you don't want batteres in you can just pull out to plug out of the wall the the bombox. Oh and one more thing you can tape a cd song on to a tape on this bombox and it picks up no background noise!!!

Perfect for the Office........2000-06-15

I was looking for a CD player for my office, and this one caught my eye primarily because it's attractive -- I like the curved design and the color scheme. It also works great. The sound is clear, and I've never had any problem with the CD or tape decks, or encountered any problem taping things from CDs. I occasionally have problems picking up radio stations, but I attribute this largely to the fact that my office is in a deep, dank basement where signals may be faint at best. The thing I love most about this box is that it's very compact, but the sound quality is great whether I'm playing Nine Inch Nails or Boccherini's cello concerto's. I also love the fact that the small size makes it convenient to take along to the classroom, should I decide to use music in my lectures. If you're looking for something fancy, you might want to try another unit. If you're looking for a compact, attractive unit for simply playing CDs or tapes, then this is a great choice.

i had the money and i wanted to buy a bombox with it. i saw a picture of this one in a Target catolog. i think what attracted me to it was the color, blue with a little purple in it sort've like lavender. i love this bombox because i can type things from the cd player to the type the it dose not pick up any back ground music.

I really like this product. The shipping was quick. The sound quality of the radio and the tape player is excelent! But then there is th CD player. I purchased it for the CD player and it isn't working properly and trying to get ahold of someone that can help is imposible. And another thing is, it is taking forever for the slip to come so they can replace my broken one.

Lased A Long Time!.......2005-10-09

I had this CD/tape player/radio boombox for several years and I like it. I used it to listen to both music and audio books and I was pretty happy with my decision in buying it and I enjoyed the CD player a lot more then my old portable CD player which kept skipping and draining the batteries after only listening to a couple of songs and turned out to be defective. It was also nice to use this as I can plug it in the electric socket when I didn't feel like using my Sony Walkman tape player and using the batteries so that way I could save the Walkman and the batteries for when I traveled. The sound quality of this boomboc was pretty good. The CD player in this boombox is starting to fail but this thing is old and I have used it a lot so it's starting to break are becasue of age and alot of use and not becasue it was a bad product! The cassette tape deck still works good though. But It's time to buy a new CD/Radio/tape player and I think I will look for another one made by Philips.
