Amazon.com Review
The sleek, rounded corners, striking silver finish, and compact body of the Casio CD312SBWE boombox are just the beginning for this snappy little rig. The Casio CD312SBWE also sports a top-loading 24-track programmable CD player, front-loading cassette deck, and AM/FM radio.
In our tests, we found that the cute little music maker works well either on the go when powered by 6 D cells or at home with the supplied AC cord. It's also got one of the cleanest designs we've seen, with a symmetrical layout and clearly marked functions. Our only gripe in this department concerns the minijack for headphones, which is located on the back of the unit's.
That said, this is a good-sounding boombox--with clear vocals, a respectable treble, and a sonic presentation that's bigger than you might think. Radio reception is just average (the mono switch helps with hard-to-get stations), but the CD player works quite well and is a snap to program. The cassette deck is fine for playback, but the lack of a tape counter and noise reduction of any kind makes all but the most casual recording a bit of a pain. There are also no tone controls, but there is an electronic bass boost, which we recommend leaving on at all times; otherwise the sound is too thin.
For the money, Casio's CD312SBWE manages to combine decent sound and basic features in a sweet little package that's also fun and easy to use. --Wayne Garcia
Pros:
Attractive, compact design
24-track programming
Supereasy to use
Cons:
Cassette has no tape counter and no noise reduction
Headphone jack located on rear panel
The Casio CD312SBBE also features AC/DC or battery (6 D, not included) operation, so you can enjoy music at home, in your car, or on a walk in the park. The headphone jack is located around back. This model comes in blue.
It has a warranty for one year on parts, 90 days on labor.

bad reception.......2002-03-21
The cd player tends to stop spinning at times, interrupting the song.
Maybe as a gift for a child who doesn't have one, this may be nice, but for an adult that wants quality, I recommend a radio with digital stations instead of the tuner.
