Outfitted with Super Bass technology, the unit offers surprisingly robust low-frequency sound that makes everything from hip-hop to classical to jazz sound rich and full bodied. The radio includes 30 station presets (20 FM and 10 AM), helping you quickly scan your favorite stations or switch to a specific program without messing with the tuner. The radio also boasts dual tuning modes--one fast and one slow--depending on where you're going on the dial and how precise you need to be. Cassette-wise, the HS-TX516 offers all the basics, including an auto-reverse mode that either plays continually or once all the way through and a hold switch that prevents you from accidentally pressing buttons and wasting battery life.
Additional features include a three-point LCD indicator that tells you at a glance how much power is left and a pair of neckband headphones uniquely designed to comfortably and securely hold the earpieces in place. The HS-TX516 runs for up to 24 hours on a single pair of AA alkaline batteries (not included) and includes a belt clip for easier transport. And at 4.5 by 3.38 by 1.19 inches (W x H x D), it takes up very little space in your jacket pocket, backpack, or elsewhere. As with all Aiwa portable audio products, the device carries a one-year warranty on parts and a 90-day warranty on labor.
