The device is equipped with auto-reverse playback, which instinctively plays the other side of a tape when the first side is finished, along with an Extra Bass System (XBS) that boosts the low frequency range for fuller, richer sound. (XBS is designed to complement the player's headphones, and will not work through a set of exterior speakers.) Should listeners tire of listening to cassettes, they can switch to the digital AM/FM tuner, which offers five preset buttons for each band. As with any good portable audio device, the RQ-CR07V is designed to plug along for hours on a single set of batteries, with a run time of 25 hours per pair of AAs. So whether you're flying across the country or sitting in traffic on the bus, you're guaranteed several hours of quality playback. The compact unit measures 3.34 by 4.41 by 1.28 (W x H x D) inches and comes with a pair of stereo headphones.

Tape drive is faulty. Tape warbles. I bought it to transfer cassettes to disc but could not proceed because quality of sound was so poor.

Perfect purchase.......2007-02-21

It's not easy finding cassette players these days. I listen to a lot of audio books and prefer that format over any of the others. The Panasonic RQ-CR07V was the right choice for me. Everything about it is perfect. The only negative comment would be the belt hook. If you use the player while you are moving around a lot, it wouldn't take you long to despise the hook that is supposed to secure to belt, pocket, etc.

Poor Frequency Response.......2007-02-10

It was a mistake to buy this product because it has a very thin or cheap sound quality. I played an analog recording of The Tocatta and Fugue in D-minor by J. S. Bach on it and was very disappointed in the poor frequency response it delivered. Nothing below about 80 hertz is even audible. The upper frquencies are also weak and the unit does not play loud enough. To top all this off, the battery life is not anywhere near what is being claimed. Very, very dissappointing. This one is going into the trash after only a few hours of use.

I liked it........2007-01-10

I carry the machine on my hip throughout the day and listen to books on tapes. And it works just fine. It uses two AA batteries, and I use to machines that use one, but it seems a lot sturdier than I am used to and does not break as easily.
