DS 2200 has problems.......2006-11-12

One has got to wonder about the unrelenting positive reviews for this product. Not all is rosy. Here are a few things that are bothersome:
1. The buttons on the body, and on the so-called "remote control" microphone (it is still attached with a cord), are easily pressed by mistake when picking up and handling the unit.
2. The batteries are used up very quickly, as there is no on-off switch.
3. There are problems with the software that comes with unit, as it does not seem to recognize files still in the unit.
4. The carrying case does not work as advertised. The so-calle "remote control" microphone does not fit into its holder because of the clip that is part of the microphone.

I'll save you some time reading the other reviews here and just tell you what you came to see: This is an excellent product. It's great for anyone that detests written memos and likes to hear their own voice in the moment of inspiration. Indispensible for writers or creative people in general and I'm sure others will find some use for it. It has all the bells and whistles without being too complex. After all, who wants a voice recorder they can barely operate?! Get this if you want something that works and is worth every penny of it's pricetag.

Olympus DS-2200 Digital Voice Recorder.......2005-10-10

I own a DS-2200 and although it was a little pricey it is a tremendous performer. The recording quality on HQ is excellent. There is nothing I would change and I highly recommend it.
