Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Feature-loaded cd player--Good if you can find it cheap.......2005-05-14

I read the reviews on this CD player and was quite hesitant about buying it, but I'm glad I did. I wanted a CD player that had mp3 capability, a remote, and supported ID3 tags. This is the only CD player I have seen with all three features, and on top of that, it looks amazing.

Ok, first off, the skip protection is nowhere near as bad as the other reviews made it seem. I have not been running with it, mind you, but I have had it in my pocket walking around for a couple days with nothing more than one or two short pauses. It is, however, a slow CD player (as I can tell you, most products by Samsung--CD players, cell phones, and Digital cameras--are not the fastest on the market. But if you have patience and let it load the cd for about a minute (and don't skip songs too often), you will have no problem with the labored timing.

The remote on this is awesome--by far the best I have seen on any CD player. It's very detailed and has all sorts of cool features I don't have time to go into right now.

The headphones do suck, but that's a given. I just got some Aiwa HP-X223 off eBay for 8 bucks, and they sound great!

From my experience, the other reviewers were quite angry with the quality of their purchases, and rightly so; if I had paid retail price I would have expected more. But I got mine for a third of that on eBay, and the features blew me away--I couldn't be happier.

2 out of 5 stars Laggy.......2004-01-09

The cd player has a beautiful design but it lacks many things, which I expected from a Samsung product. First of all, it skips a lot. I had it lying on a desk without moving it and it still manages to skip every once in a while. Second, there is a great lag in between songs and the song stops in the middle and seems to never resume. And when the songs are changing, it makes a loud whirring noise which gets annoying. The anti-skip system is a scam. It says 960 seconds, but it's more like 9.6 seconds. I wouldn't recommend this product to others. For cell phones, get a Samsung. For a CD walkman, get a Sony or something else.

1 out of 5 stars Do not buy this if you like music.......2003-11-11

I got this Saturday afternoon and by Monday morning, I was convinced that I should return it. Thinking about taking advantage of that 920 shock protection? Think again! This shock protection (or lack of it) is a joke. I can't even walk with this or keep it in a non-90 degree horizontal position for more than 30 seconds without it skipping. And even when it is horizontal, it skips every few songs, stops playing a song halfway through, and also takes about 10-20 seconds to switch from track to track. And these headphones are terrible. For some strange reason, one ear cord is longer than the other.

Pros:
- Slim and fits in your pockets
- Remote control is great and easy to use
- Good battery life
- Plays WMA files as well
- Good sound features

Cons:
- It's impossible to play this without skipping
- Stops playing songs halfway through and goes to another
- Headphones are an insult to music and engineering
- The chords are ridiculously messy and unorthodox
- The radio tuner that's supposed to be digital is full of static
- Does not stay true to many of the specs advertised
- Time between songs is excessively long

3 out of 5 stars Slim, Beautiful player, but skips too much.......2003-10-13

I bought this from Circuit City yesterday for 90 dollars. since it was the smallest, and cheapest CD/mp3 player with FM tuner, i decided to buy it and see how it works.

It sounds great! it's remote controller has backlit light so it's easy to use at night. its surface is made out of thin, very strong aluminum(or metal, don't know exactly), not like other cheap cdplayers that are made out of cheap plastics.

However, the anti-shock is a total joke. it says 960 seconds shock resistant. No, it's more like 9.6 seconds shock resistant. i wasn't even running. I was walking with this in my pocket, and it was skipping like crazy!

So here is my summary.

Pro:
1. Solid construction.
2. Perfect sound quality.
3. Everything is built-in.
4. Nice remote controller.

Cons:
1. It skipps too much.

3 out of 5 stars Nice player, but NOT for Runners, nor fast walkers........2003-09-15

Although this is a really nice CD/mp3 player, it skipped like crazy when I tried running with it. According to the box and matching sticker on the player, the unit provides anti-skip of 480 secs for mp3 and 960 secs for WMA, which I guess means that it is still going to skip. I did not try running using a WMA CD because I bought unit to play mp3s. Since the unit did not meet my needs, I returned it.

I am giving this player three stars for the following reasons:

PROS:
- easy to use;
- sounds great;
- nice headphones;
- small and light;
- rechargable batteries provided 10+ hours of mp3 playing;

CONS:
- skipped after a few minutes of jogging;
- no car kit;
