I loved this thing when I got it and used it every day during my train commute to and from work. It worked fantastic ... the sound was awesome and it was more than loud enough with the sony headphones I bought for it. I recommend buying aftermarket headphones since the headphones that come with it are big and [crazy] looking and don't sound too great. Then all of a sudden one day the headphone jack (where you plug the headphones in) just stopped working. For a while if I twisted the little plug the right way it would work, but then it just stopped working alltogether. I tried three other pairs of headphones including the ones it came with, and none of them worked. Hopefully mine was an isolated case, but I don't think I would ever buy this again.

This player has excellent bass and sound quality, won't skip and will run on batteries reasonably long; which is a shame because it just might scratch your CDs. After owning it for 6 months, the player started abruptly stopping (and shutting down) in the middle of tracks. The lens also began to make circular scratches on the CDs it played - very irritating indeed (this is usually the sign of a very cheaply make CD player). I never rocked it around or dropped it, or did anything that would cause this - it just started happening on its own. Now I have to replace it AND one of the music CDs that got quite a bit of playtime, and you can bet I'll not go with Philips again.

I own this cd player and it is one of the best one's I've ever owned. I've dropped the thing so many times since I got it (Christmas 00) and it still works like it's brand new. I love it.

I bought this cd player a week ago and it is simply the best personal cd player I have ever used. The sound is grate (as long as you use some other hedphones than the ones suplied in the box) The battaries last for ever. But, best of all it will not skip I shook the thing untill it spun backwards and I never herd it skip. So, for the price you can't pass this one up.

this cd players is the best i have ever had. its looks good. nice blue color. the esp works great from what i have experienced. also the bass is great with two different levels. the only drawback of this cd player is the included headphones. invest some money in some good headphones and it sounds great! if you have the money and are looking fo a cd player buy this one. believe me you will love it period.
