The Aiwa XP-V506C Portable CD Player with car kit provides you hours of portable CD play with built-in shock protection. With the included car kit, you can plug it in to your car stereo and hit the road--bumpy or not. Not only does the Electronic Anti-Shock System neutralize jarring motion, but the 10-second memory provides fast recovery if the player does skip. Equipped with a Dynamic Super Linear sound system, the Aiwa XP-V50 ensures quality sound with minimum distortion. Aiwa's DSL circuitry uses an electronic equalizer that compensates for bass roll-off, thereby extending the speaker's low-frequency response. Battery life is as long as 14 hours on two AA batteries, and rechargeable batteries are an option. The Aiwa XP-V50 comes with headphones and an AC adapter.

Although the XP-V506C is part of Aiwa's 1999 lineup of entry-level personal CD players, it does come with more accessories than any of Aiwa's basic models. That means it comes with a car kit that lets you play CDs through your in-dash cassette deck and power the 506C through your car's cigarette lighter. The comes with a 10-second shock buffer that's good enough for skip-free play during a brisk walk or a drive on a country road - depending on your car's shocks of course. Aiwa has improved power management in its 1999 models. The V506's can milk up to 14 hours of playback time from new alkaline batteries - as long as you disable the shock protection.
