Stay alert to conditions that affect you with Midland's WR-300 weather/all-hazard radio. The unit offers S.A.M.E. technology (Specific Area Message Encoding), which preprograms the device to receive only those warnings that apply to your local area--you can choose state, county, and/or nearby counties. The single-speaker radio offers 30 programmable county codes, AM/FM tuning, date, time, alarm functions, and even auto switch from AM/FM to pertinent all-hazard alerts.

For tuning, the radio employs drift-free PLL (phase-lock loop) technology and an easy-to-read blue, backlit LCD. You get a convenient, 10-alert memory, and you can add, edit, and remove unwanted alerts at any time. The radio uses the supplied AC power adapter or four AA Batteries (not included).

This product is great! Best part is that you can take off the loud alarm for warnings that don't apply to your area. If you do that, you still get a light that comes on and a digital message of what the watch/warning is. We have a hard time getting an a.m. radio signal, but this radio gets reception fine. I'm impressed. Would definitely recommend it. Received it in two days - great!

This is a great product for all your weather and civil emergency alert needs. Since having this product, the alert system has been activated several times giving you a heads up on what weather is to come. Set-up was a breeze!

I bought this radio in March, 2007, and it is everything that I wanted. It has a compact size, but I am sure the alert would wake me from a dead sleep, even though I have it in the next room. It was easy to set up. I use the AM/FM radio all the time.

Purchased this cause I live in a fairly large home in the midwest. This was the first one. My wife set it up and seems to work just fine. We are able to eliminate unwanted warnings. We just use it as an alert radio and not a clock radio so I cannot comment on the clock radio functions. All in all, wrosk just fine for us.

A weather radio is only as good as the strength of your reception. The weather service in Ohio only puts out 500 watts compared to twice that of some states yet despite the fact that I live in a sub-ground apartment near lake Erie this radio pulls in every alert I programmed it to.

I really like the sleek design, nice job Midland. Instructions are easy to understand and you'll have the unit working in no time.

My advice is to write down your local weather code and tape it to the back of the radio so you don't have to go online and look for it later. The good news is that this radio doesn't lose memory function when the back up battery is removed. That it such a pain to deal with with other models.

The alarm is substantial enough to wake me out of a sleep and the AM/FM reception is strong with a nice speaker. There are other features to speak of but my advice to you is to buy this unit. It's well designed and looks great anywhere in the house or boat
