Coby CX-96 Review.......2007-06-27

This model is adequate. I am an avid radio listener and have purchased every digital personal radio available for the last 25 years. The absolute best will always be the SONY SRF-M32 but they were discontinued years ago. The Coby CX-96 is a reasonable replacement and even includes a few features that are improvements over the Sony. But the reception is nowhere near the Sony's capability and it definitely needs a BELTCLIP instead of the armband. Best of Luck.

I've only used this as a jogging radio for about a month, but so far I like it very much. The headphones are lousy and I'm using it with better ones, but the radio itself is light, comfortable, easy to use, and has good reception. Let's hope it lasts and doesn't break down like these radios tend to do...

Good for Gym bad for everything else........2007-06-04

This product is OK. When I took it out of the box, I was very dissapointed at the reception of my local radio stations. However, when I took it to the gym (which was it's intended purpose) I was able to easily pick up all of the local broadcasts in the gym.

Also they made a small design mistake on the armband. You need to twist the band to make the velcro work.

I do not recommend this product for use other than in a gym with local broadcasts. You might need to pay a bit more and get the Sony for other uses.

Not the best...But ok.......2007-05-11

Looked around for one for a decent price and would go on the arm, this one seemed to be good for the price, but it slips some. Music is ok but not the best for the price it's ok.

My sole purpose in writing this review is to let the world know that the armband works just fine as is, it just needs to be properly routed!

Before purchasing the radio I read a couple of Amazon reviews stating that the band was defective or poorly designed. I ordered the item anyway prepared to deal with the armband issue.

In the defense of those who improperly routed the band, the instructions don't break down how to do it and the available images aren't much help either.
* I found the Amazon image for the Coby CX-84 model helpful in routing the band.
