For radio listening, you'll enjoy drift-free digital PLL (phase-locked-loop) tuning with 12 preset stations for 1-touch tuning convenience for your favorites (6 FM, 6 AM). Use the clock's handy Smart Knob to quickly and easily adjust all settings and major functions.

Ideal for a portable MP3 player or cassette player, the T617S's auxiliary audio input broadens your listening options to include any source you deem appropriate. Hookup with portable audio devices is a snap using the supplied stereo minijack-to-minijack audio cable.

And, just to make sure you never miss an important appointment (if only some quality time with your shower or morning coffee), the clock also comes with Timex's Sure Alarm battery backup. Just install 3 AAA batteries (not included) to activate this feature. comes with lots of bells and whistles on this thing to justify the $70 price tag. CD sound is OK if not spectacular. So why do i miss my old RCA CD Alarm clock - and don't get me wrong - that flimsy RCA thing never worked correctly from day one and by month three i had a one in five chance of the cd player working. For SIMPLICITY sake. This thing is way too confusing and not user friendly. And it plays your mp3 player but doesn't charge it - so either i plug my ipod into the wall before i hook it up to the Timex = or it's dead when i wake up. The bright lights don't bother me as much as others. My worst complaint - i go to sleep well after my wife and when you set the alarm on it it BEEPS - 2 Times!- and relatively loud. Never fails to wake my wife up on the other side of the bed while I'm setting it and piss her off. NOT FOR COUPLES WHO GO TO BED AT DIFFERENT TIMES.

This is a GREAT product. it comes with a preset time and backup batteries.
CD, tunning, sleep, dual alarm are great. Nap feature is amazing!
but there is always something that could be better:
- have rain as a nature sound
- have the possibility of letting the clock light as light as it is when it's only operated by back-up batteries (there are 3 light options when plugged, but event the darkest is lighter then only battery)

We have nothing but praise for this product. The sound quality is superior to most clock radios. Although the nature sounds are rather limited they are sufficient for us. We like the fact that you can dim the light on the clock and that you can select random as an option when playing CD's, plus you can hook up your MP3.

This one failed out of the box. It was also quite a bit more complex to set up than we wanted. Button functions are unclear. To turn the CD off, for example, you have to hit a button labeled Off/Alarm Reset. Does this both turn off the CD AND reset the alarms? Who knows? You can't tell from the very skimpy manual, either. On ours, the LCD went funny with weird shapes and indecipherable characters almost immediately and the battery backup did not seem to do the job. This felt like a very quick make it in China as cheaply as possible and sell it for a huge profit kind of product. I'd stay away...
