With an ultra-compact design that fits or hides virtually anywhere and such features as automatic A/B switching, the Russound DPA 1.2 two-channel zone amplifier is an ideal complement to your multi-room speaker setup. Listeners can use the DPA 1.2 as a single-source zone amp, or as a local source amplifier that automatically switches between a default source (such as a whole-house audio distribution system) and a local source (like a TV set). The unit's power output is 35 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 45 watts into 6 ohms, though the amp can also be bridged to provide 70 watts of mono power into 8 ohms (great for power-hungry subwoofers or single-speaker zones). In addition, each output channel incorporates thermal and short circuit protection, in addition to Russound's unique dynamic clipping sensor, which allows for better headroom and volume while minimizing distortion.
Additional features include high- and low-level inputs; adjustable audio and video signal sensing (automatically turns the amp on and switches from the default input when a signal is detected); a 12-volt trigger input and output (for turning on such components as motorized drapes, screens, etc.); and adjustable mute delay. The DPA 1.2 is also A-Bus compatible, making it easy to install in areas that need more power, and features a built-in plate mount for horizontal or vertical mounting.
