Listeners can use the Amp 100 as an independent stereo amp (50 watts x 2 into 8 ohms) when used with a preamp, as a second zone amplifier in multi-room applications, or as a rear-channel amplifier in a 6.1- and 7.1-channel system. Combine the Amp 100 with an additional monoblock amp (the Amp 100 delivers 150 watts RMS of bridged power) and a preamp and listeners can independently drive two front left/right speakers or two rear speakers, further clarifying each channel to create dynamic, high-end sound. To connect additional components to the amp, use the included stereo inputs with automatic priority override (for connecting to a source such as a receiver, CD player, or preamplifier) or the auxiliary output for creating a multi-amp setup.

The amp boasts a precise frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and total harmonic distortion of 0.02 percent. Additional features include A, B, or A+B speaker selector switches, front-panel mounted volume and balance knobs, and five-way binding posts that work with both bare wire and banana plugs. Good Deal.......2007-06-26

Purchased this amp to power my Boston Acoustics Grand Voyager outdoor speakers hooked up on a second zone set up. The AudioSource 100 gets the job done as long as you don't make it strain too hard. Moderate to loud sounds pretty smooth, but anything over that gets the grunge going. Then again, those speakers cost 8X more then the amp does, so lesser speakers should be even better with it. Hey, what do you want for under $100? Plain black box and easy to set up, comes with two sets of speaker inputs and an A/B switch.

Can't beat it for the price, highly recomended.

If you're looking for a small amp for a second room, you found it. If you need a compliment to upgrade your 5.1 this will do well for you. For the price you can't beat it, it delivers good sound and can really expand your system. I use it as a stand alone amp to power some smaller speakers with an iPod dock connected to it. It's 50watts per channel so it's no powerhouse by any means but if you need a boost, this is your amp.

Great little amp for the price!.......2007-06-08

I used this amp to power a pair of Anthony Gallo Micro Ti speakers, used the powered Gallo Sub. This amp is perfect for the hidden installation, and the primary connection is to an iPod doc with sVideo to the HDTV to view the choices on the iPod, and to make playlists with out connecting back up to the PC. The second input to the amp, the one that takes over when powered up and providing a signal is connected to a universal disc player, for stereo playback of cd's, and DVD audio. The AMP is quite small, and fits in the corner shaped cabinet that had a very limited depth issue for the electronics components.

Why the auto-switch???.......2007-06-01

BEWARE: an otherwise nice and simple amp, but the auto-switch feature totally ruins it for me. If there's no sound or only sound at a low volume (eg. silence, whispering or just a quieter dialog in a movie or song) for a few seconds, the amp turns the output off with a loud click only to turn it back on when it senses about half a second of louder sound (which you never get to hear) with another click. It will often turn itself off between songs on a CD.

A totally annoying and unnecessary "feature" which you will run into unless you only listen to music that's constantly loud. I can't stand when things try to be smarter than they are. When I turn on an amp, I want it to stay on until I turn it off. And I want it to amplify everything I send to it, no matter how soft. Without this in my opinion major flaw, I'd give it 5 stars but like this I feel I wasted my money.
