The SLA-2 is a studio linear power amp that delivers 200 watts of clean, clear power per channel, and through the use of advanced design techniques is able to pack this performance inside a single rack space. One of the top features is ART's SmartFan technology, which is used to supplement the amplifier's already effective passive cooling design. Oversized convection heat sinks located on each side of the SLA-2 silently direct heat flow outside the chassis. What makes the SmartFan “smart”? Its temperature-controlled variable speed keeps the amp quiet and cool while performing at lower output. SmartFan kicks in only when the amp's heat load rises, creating an “on demand” cooling system in warmer environments. The SLA-2 is rated at 200 watts RMS/channel @ 8 ohms (280 watts RMS/channel @ 4 ohms and 560 watts bridged mono @ 8 ohms), with hum and noise better than 100dB below clipping, and has an input impedance of 22k ohm unbalanced (44k ohm balanced). It features XLR and 1/4" inputs, ground lift switch, and Power, Clip, Signal, and Protect LEDs.
