Teac AG-D9320 5.1 Channel Surround Sound High Current Home Theater A/V Receiver

Product Description
From the Manufacturer
This 500-watt, 5.1-channel digital surround receiver features extensive inputs and outputs, plus built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoding for true digital 5.1 surround sound. An onscreen display (in three languages) makes setup quick and easy, so you can have your home theater up and running with excellent, high-power surround sound in record time.

Switchable 130 watt x 2 (stereo mode) or 100 watt x 5 (surround mode) power output translates into dynamic power for music and movies. A 24-bit, 96 kHz digital-to-analog converter renders pristine sound from CDs and the latest DVDs. Experience crystal-clear audio that remains true to the original recording.

Connectivity with this receiver is simply outstanding. A/B speaker outputs are provided for multiple room configurations. Video inputs abound: two component-video and three S-video inputs deliver enhanced color separation and picture clarity, while four composite-video inputs provide compatibility with standard TVs, VCRs, and camcorders. Four sets of stereo analog RCA audio inputs are provided, plus two optical and one coaxial digital-audio inputs. A front-panel headphone jack facilitates private listening.

Other features include a night mode that enhances low-volume audio by limiting the dynamic range for easier listening. Speaker configuration and subwoofer on/off selector are also provided. A Teac unified remote control can be programmed to use with most home-theater devices.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars TEAC AG-D9320 5.1--Good product, great price.......2007-05-12

TEAC AG-D9320 5.1 surround sound receiver/amp: Positives--plenty of inputs (several RCA, 3 digital). plenty of felxibility for inputs which allows you to connect several devices--a couple of VHS, a couple of DVDs a CD player and CD recorder, satellite/cable TV system...I like the the diiferent surround sounds modes (good for sports, movies, live musics, etc.). The only negative is that this unit runs very hot...I have given it plenty of space in our entertainment cabinet and it still emits a great deal of heat.

5 out of 5 stars Sounds Great.......2007-04-04

I purchased the TEAC 5.1 to replace a 20 year old Harmon/Kardon stereo receiver used in my den, so I do not use its video features but am more than pleased with its audio capabilities. The Pro Logic and surround sound settings do, indeed, surround and fill the room with rich full sound reproduction, whether from CD, phono, or FM stereo source. There are many options available as to speaker set up (A-B), DTS, or the 5.1. The remote is full function and works well from any angle. Controls are easy to use, well marked, and readily accessable. Screen display is clear and very readable. While it may not have as many bells and whistles as some newer 7.1 receivers, it more than fulfills my expectations and needs. The gold on black labeling looks great too!

4 out of 5 stars holysoldier.......2007-01-24

im glad i purchased this product its sounds great ive enjoy it very much i was very impressed with a teac recevier that my nephew has that sounded greater and hit harder then any recevier i had ever heard the reson i gave this recevier 4 stars instead of 5 is because their is one thing i would change about this recevier is a bass boost button id put a bass boost button on it to inhanse the bass sound other wise its great recevier and a great buy well worth the money

4 out of 5 stars Teac AG-D9320 5.1.......2007-01-03

Teac AG-D9320 5.1 rated at 130 watts per channel in stereo and 100 x 5, it high instantaneous current capability. The AG-D9320 contains massive capacitors within the all-discrete amplifier circuits that maintain the current through even the harshest demands.

5 out of 5 stars Incredible value!!.......2006-07-12

I got my Teac on line about 4 years ago for the closeout sale price of $420.00. I have been ecstatic with it ever since.

I, long ago, could hear the differences between speakers, but not amps.... this is supposed to be a high quality amp with isolated signal paths etc... All I know is it sounds awesome and everyone who hears it is impressed!

The great thing about this receiver is the abundance of inputs. I've seen some nice receivers with more inputs, but they cost at least twice as much as this one.

As far as the reliability/heat issue, mine runs a little on the warm side, not nearly as warm as my Dad's Technics SA-DX1040, but not as cool as a Carver or my previous Teac with a cooling fan built in. This has had no bad effects, I use the thing all the time for four years now and it is like brand new except for the dust on the top.

The only thing I would change on this is the volume. I purchased this unit because I had an older Teac receiver that only had pro-logic decoding but was great receiver, so when I finally upgraded from VHS to DVDs, I naturally looked to Teac first. I know there is a name for a volume slope that is not linear but designed to sound linear, but I can't think of what it is. My old Teac receiver had a perfectly linear sounding volume control slope, but this has what seems like it would be exponentially increasing, in other words, you have to crank the volume 3/4 of the way to get a good normal volume then there is just 1/4 of the adjustment left to go from normal to earth shattering (3/4 volume on the new Teac is the same decibel output as the old Teac at 1/3, but both are the same output at full volume..

The Bottom Line is: this is a must buy for anyone looking for a low-mid range receiver: low range shoppers will be blown away by the performance and features, mid level by the price!!
