The amplifier features extended audio bandwidth (10 to 44,000 Hz, +/- 3 dB), and its multichannel analog-audio inputs accommodate feeds from premium-quality DVD-Audio and SACD players.

Connections include several digital-audio inputs and one (optical) digital-audio outputs; composite-, component-, and S-video switching; and rugged five-way binding-post speaker terminals for the front speaker outputs. The receiver also offers FM/AM tuning with supplied antennas and an illuminated universal remote control.

Product Description:
The SA-XR25 is a Panasonic's second-generation, fully-digital receiver. Since a digital receiver processes everything from input to output in the digital domain, amplification with virtually no signal degradation is possible. The result is a new dimension in sound quality. Boasting power efficiency of over 90 percent, the receivers deliver high output with minimal heat, in this case 100 watts to each of the six channels. The SA-XR25 is equipped with six channel discrete inputs to deliver the enhanced sound quality of DVD-Audio music. It decodes the DTS-ES and Dolby Digital EX surround formats, as well as Dolby Digital 5.1-channel sources and Dolby Pro Logic II, which converts sound from regular two-channel stereo sources into 5.1 channel for spacious surround sound. This model is remarkably thin and is ready to be connected to virtually any other home theater component.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding Receiver.......2006-05-12

I bought this off of ebay for a [...] bucks. No fade in sound only complaints from my neighbors. I listen to rap and all my friends say, that is one clear sounding system. Have it hooked up using 5.1 for DVD's and its great. Recently hooked up my 360 and wow, what a gaming experience. This receiver has been nothing but great for me. Play with the settings and watch it go from flat to bassy. I bump this thing everyday with sub and no bass on the front speakers and it is loud. I had the bass up at my old apt and boy did I shake the walls. GET IT, don't be fooled by those with problems. And I ran my component and S-video cables through the receiver and it strengthed the picture that was already pretty damn sharp. I have 32 flat screen and running your video cables through the receiver only improves the picture, trust me. Did I mention I've had this thing for lets see 1.5 years and will continue to use it for another 3-4. And its digital so low heat and low power consumption.

4 out of 5 stars GOOD.......2005-04-07

i bought this receiver couple of months ago & had no prombles at all.Actually, this is my best home theatre receiver to date!!

1 out of 5 stars Quality a little suspect.......2005-02-21

I have begun having the same problems as some as the other receivers. The sound either drops out or begins "stuttering", requiring you to change the input and change it back for the sound to come back. I have had the SA-XR25S for about a year and have finally had it. I am replacing it today with an Onkyo receiver.

2 out of 5 stars mixed feelings.......2004-11-12

i have the same problem as other reviewers.the sound becomes garbled when viewing a dvd or in tv mode.if i change tv channels or in dvd mode switch input the sound comes back but it will become garbled again soon after.some days no problems at all though.panasonic has had my receiver in their repair shop more than i have had it my home!another matter that irks me is the remote.early on i discovered that i could not"fast forward"a dvd with the buttons that the manual said would perform this function.

1 out of 5 stars Audio cuts out frequently.......2004-07-22

I bought this receiver looking at the good reviews.
But my receiver when playing, the audio cuts out.
Gave it to service at authorized service center, they kept it for 3 days and said they soldered the loose connections and it should be fine.
the audio cuts out the very same day i got it back.
i am yet to give it back for service.
i hope your receiver wont give you any problems, as for me connecting the wires to speakers, removing them is a lot of work.

I have been through two recievers due to over heating, besides that fact it is all in all a good receiver! very user friendly

4 out of 5 stars Good reciever need subwoofer.......2004-08-09

decent for the price and what it does...however you must have a subwoofer because of the 100hz cutoff...get get the sub and you will roll....sweet all the way around...nice size and looks..great for the price....somewhat chintzy speaker connects but you can get around that...
