The E50s throw a changeup in traditional speaker orientation by resting as comfortably horizontally as they do vertically. The alternate positioning--which was inspired by the horizontal monitors seen in many recording studios--makes them ideal for people with bookshelves or tables that can't accommodate tall speakers, and for folks who just prefer the flatter look.
