Polk's exclusive Dynamic Balance drivers and tweeters ensure an impressively wide frequency response (65 to 20,000 Hz at their 3 dB down points) and high efficiency with low distortion (handling amplifiers pumping anywhere from 20 to 100 watts per channel). The speakers' rubber driver surrounds are built to deliver a lifetime of reliable high performance. Their wide-dispersion drivers and tweeters project sound over a wide area so every listener in a room hears open, "box-less," 3-dimensional sound.

Dynamic Balance started with laser interferometry research done in partnership with the Johns Hopkins University. Full-field laser-imaging research allowed Polk to view a driver's entire vibrating surface, revealing the resonance that develops on speaker cones as they move. That resonance is the root cause of frequency-response distortions. Knowing this helped Polk engineers find the right combination of materials, geometry, and construction techniques to tune out the offending resonance. The resulting Dynamic Balance technology produces flat frequency response, sharp detail, sonic transparency, and a speaker's ability to play dynamic programs at life-like levels without a hint of strain.

Front-mounted bass ports provide deep, punchy bass, and the speakers are magnetically shielded to permit distortion-free placement near TVs and computer monitors.

Convenient, 5-way binding posts provide an array of secure hook-up options, and the speakers feature a built-in keyhole slot for easy wall mounting. When wall mounting, Polk recommends using either bare-wire or spade-lug connections to ensure flush mounting. Wall mounting requires basic skills with tools such as a drill and a screwdriver. The speakers are covered by Polk's standard, non-transferable 5-year warranty.

This is a great set of speakers for the price. They are nice and clear. They sound good at low and high volumes. They are light weight so they will mount on the wall nicely. Like all book shelf speakers they aren't bass monsters but they do sound alright playing music. But, to get the most out of these, match them is a small sub (I have a older Yamaha sub, and the newer version is still only about a hundred dollars). I was nervous after I purchased these, I didn't know if I would be disappointed with the sound or maybe if I should have gone and bought something at the local store instead so that I could hear before I bought, but lucky for me they sound great and I was very happy with this purchase!

An extraordinary value. I am using these speakers in a bedroom setup with an old Sherwood receiver and a Sony CD player. The midrange is as sweet as any I have heard at any price, and that covers most of the music I listen to in the bedroom. Of course you wouldn't play the Berlioz Requiem on these little speakers, but for vocal music, chorales, and chamber music, they are remarkably satisfying. I recommend them highly.

The clarity is really impressive for a speaker this size and price. It goes without saying that it will lack the bass of a larger model, but it's a superior quality sound. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.

I admit it, I am semi-obsessed with not spending a fortune on anything. It is all about value. So when it cam time to find some new speakers I spend way too much time thinking about the right choice. But it paid off. These speakers are a real bargain. Their big rich sound will make you happy and so will the price. Compared to similar bookshelf speakers they may seem at the higher end but that is the problem. These little speakers do not compare to other bookshelf speakers. They are far more robust and compare more accurately to expensive mid-size three-way speakers like the Sony SSM-F750H. I highly recommend the POLK Audio R-15 for you home.

Wow, what nice sound from these little buggers! Usually most bookshelf speakers sound a little thin, but man these pack a wallop! Now, I'm using them in conjuction with a sub and center channel, but woohoo they rock!

Excellent sound and I'm not even through the break in period yet, I'm using an ancient Onkyo amp, and they are playing 128kbps without any major distortion unless turned up 3/4 or more. I think since I only have 50 watts going to the speaker this is excellent. I highly recommend these little things.
