The JBL S26 2-way, 6-inch bookshelf speakers are magnetically shielded for distortion-free placement near video monitors and offer 150-watt maximum power handling, 48 to 20,000 Hz frequency response, 87 dB sensitivity, and 8-ohm nominal impedance. Also featured in the JBL S26 model is a 6-inch PolyPlas (polymer-coated cellulose fiber) cone woofer and a 1-inch pure titanium-dome tweeter. The woofer is built on a cast aluminum frame, which reduces distortion and increases power-handling capability.

JBL's S26 model speakers are equipped with all-metal, five-way, gold-plated binding-post speaker terminals. These speakers come in black and include a two-year parts and labor warranty on the speaker enclosures and a five-year parts and labor warranty on the speaker driver and internal components.

I Purchased these as rear speakers to complete surround sound set.
I had no idea that they would sound sooo nice!
They have a wonderful range of response and the resolution is great! After plugging them in, I ended up routing all power just to them and listening to a full symphony from my rear speakers!

Great sound and clarity.......2002-01-14

I just bought these to use as my main speakers with my Kenwood receiver. Let me tell you, these speakers sound great! I use them for both music and for Home Theater. There is NO other speakers that sound better in this price range. I've had these speakers for about 4 days, and they sound better and better every day. These little speakers even have great bass! Once I save up enough money I'm going to buy the JBL S38's and move the S26's to the surrounds. You need to buy these speakers!

Unbelievable clarity.......2000-03-15

The mid and high range frequencies are reproduced with incredable clarity. You will hear the music as heard in the recording studios. That is to say; you will hear every instrument clearly and distinctly, without any distortion or blending. The base is also tight and adequate for anyone living in an apartment or condo. Any more and you may get kicked out. You can also get a great deal since this speaker is discontinued. I bought mine for less than $240 for the pair at amazon's z-shop. These speakers give the same incredable performance when watching DVD's. While BOSE has become popular, these JBL's definately outperforms similarly priced 3 way bose speakers. Remember, 3-ways don't neccesarily sound better than 2-way speakers. The fit, finish and quality of material is unmatched.
