The speaker is equipped with dual 5-inch PolyPlas woofers, which combine to deliver loud and clear low and mid ranges without distortion or unwanted thump. Meanwhile, the speaker's 0.75-inch titanium-laminate tweeter is oval shaped rather than round--JBL calls this orientation Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal (EOS)--resulting in a wider horizontal dispersion of sound. The idea is simple: turn every seat, even those in the corners of the room, into the best seat in the house.
Additional audio attributes include a Straight-Line Signal Path (SSP) crossover network, which divides the signal with minimal processing to preserve its integrity, and sturdy, gold-plated, five-way binding posts that provide the best connection possible. All this in an attractive computer-designed cabinet with a cherry finish that virtually eliminates distortion.
