Because it works so hard, you need a speaker that can handle serious power and still sound crisp and clear. Otherwise, the effects speakers can overpower the dialogue, making you miss important plot twists. The aluminum drivers built into the NS-AC40X handle up to 160 watts of peak power, bringing dialogue through loud and clear.Yamaha's NS-AC40X utilizes two 5-1/4" aluminum cone woofers with inverted dust caps and 1" aluminum dome tweeter to deliver the important center channel. The speaker is magnetically shielded, so it can be placed on a TV or video monitor without degrading the picture via stray magnetic fields. The speaker can be placed above or beneath the TV and the dialog will be directed at the viewer. Tweeter Attenuator allows the center channel to be timbre-matched to the other speakers in the system. New grille design and satin grille cloth provide an attractive and acoustically transparent protective cover for the drivers. The profile radius wrapped black finish cabinet provides a handsome style accent and improves the acoustic performance by reducing cabinet interference and assuring the proper dispersion of sound.
