Cerwin-Vega's E-708 loudspeaker delivers loud levels with very little amplifier power. The speaker derives its slam (including a 3 dB bass boost at the enclosure's tuning frequency) from two characteristics: its rugged die-cast aluminum woofer, designed for huge power handling and greater output with less applied power, and its high sensitivity (90 dB), which makes it extra responsive to any wattage you send its way.
With the E-708, however, it's not all about blasting bass--the speaker offers Cerwin-Vega's Acoustic Contour Controls, which let you tailor the tonal balance to your listening environment. Further refining the sound is the speaker's multidensity cabinet, which helps reduce distortion and improve tonal accuracy. The E-708's balanced-dome tweeter is also capable of exceptionally high sensitivity, so it's no problem if you and your amp happen to send it just a little too much love--the self-resetting tweeter is protected from thermal overload.
