The Five-channel Speaker Package System included with the YHT-160 provides you with two front speakers, two surround speakers and a center channel speaker -- all attractively designed with a slim design and silver finish. Their compact size not only makes it easier to arrange your speakers, but also improves their imaging ability, adding even more realism to surround effects. The two front speakers, two surround (rear) speakers and the center channel speaker each use 2.5-inch full-range cones to deliver exceptional clarity and surprising power. These acoustic suspension design speakers are also magnetically shielded, so they can be placed on or near a video monitor without causing problems. The included subwoofer pumps 100 watts through an eight-inch multi-range driver using Yamaha's Advanced YST system to maximize performance so you can enjoy powerful, accurate bass response at any volume.

Yamaha's patented Advanced Active Servo Technology (Advanced YST) generates incredible bass from small speaker enclosures. Using advanced negative impedance converters, the receiver works with the subwoofer to intelligently adjust the negative impedance generation as the speaker moves.
