MovieWorks 408 uses 5 identical satellite cubes for its main, center and surround speakers. The satellite cubes are identical to those in Cambridge SoundWorks' highly acclaimed Ensemble IV Home Theater speaker system. Each compact satellite encloses a 3-inch long-throw speaker that reproduces sound naturally and accurately and is shield to prevent interference with your TV picture. The satellites are small enough so that they can be placed just about anywhere, even hung on the wall using their built-in keyhole slots.
The low- frequency audio in MovieWorks 408 is reproduced by BassCube 8S, an incredible giant killer powered subwoofer by Cambridge SoundWorks. It uses a remarkable 8-inch long-throw woofer in a very compact cabinet with a built-in 50W amplifier. BassCube 8S delivers realistic bass performance down to 39Hz.
In order to hit a price point a number of companies offer sub-$500 five-channel speaker systems that include a powered subwoofer. But we have yet to hear one that can compare to MovieWorks 408. Don't be fooled by its small size and price. It truly delivers superior sound.
