Reclaim your living room while rediscovering the joy of music. The AudioSource IW5S in-wall speakers are designed to accurately reproduce today's demanding digital music and movie soundtracks. In-wall speakers are designed so that the wall and the space behind it actually become the speaker cabinet. As such, the speaker depth is under 3 inches. Mounted flush to the wall, they require absolutely no floor space. This discrete, compact format is ideal for applications where traditional speakers would be impractical or impossible--or simply unsightly.

In-wall speakers may be used independently where space is a consideration, or to bring music from your living-room system to additional rooms in the house. They handle amplifier loads up to 60 watts per channel, and can also be used to enhance and enrich subwoofer and surround-sound systems, for which they're well suited when mounted just behind and on either side of your home-theater listening area.

The speakers each feature one 5.25-inch polypropylene woofer and a swivel-mounted, 1-inch tweeter, which you can direct as needed to optimize the sound at your listening position.

The speaker terminals will accommodate up to 16-gauge speaker wire, which should be used for longer connections (greater than 50 feet of wire). For shorter distances, 18- or 20-gauge speaker wire will be adequate. You may paint the metal speaker grilles, as well as the frames, to match any room.

Great for my surround speakers.......2007-01-05

I bought two pair of these speakers to act as the side and rear speakers in my media room. I have a Denon AVR-3806 7.1 CH Receiver driving my setup. I don't think I'm pushing these as hard as I could, but I'm very satisfied when either listening to CDs or 5.1 encoded DVD soundtracks.

They were very easy to install, with a minimum of tools and fuss. Because of the layout of my room, I had to mount them higher then optimal, but the speaker can be slightly adjusted to 'point' the sound.

For my application, I don't think I could beat the price and performance.

The sound is pretty crisp and clear, but too tinny. At least the speakers do mount well.

For the previous guy who needed the impedence, they are 8 ohm speakers (pretty much the standard and he could have downloaded the user's manual to find this out if he was so inclined).

The speakers come with a wall cutting template that makes it easy to cut the exact hole size needed for the speakers. For an exterior wall with insulation, you may need to buy a wall box to back up the speaker to provide some airspace behind the speaker.

You can paint these to match the wall and they end up looking very nice.

Great value for the price. I paid $40 for the pair, shipped.
