The slot load venting improves bass response. The wide, long slot load vent dramatically lessens turbulence, noise and distortion, pouring out a tidal wave of precise, thunderous bass!

Polk subs sound better because they're built better. Rock-solid MDF construction (including a 1 inch thick front baffle) suppresses enclosure panel resonance for distortion-free, accurate response. And the big 12 inch long throw driver makes for longer excursion and better linearity.

Magnetically shielding lets you place the unit near your state-of-the-art TV or video monitor with no risk of video distortion.

This is by far one of the best additions to my entertainment system... the 505 has a low-hard hit that puts you in the middle of the action... well worth every dollar.
