I don't feel like writing the complaint again, so I copied and pasted the e-mail that I sent to the vendor, read it and come up with your own conclusion.
Also this product is advertised as CANON and that is not the case the brand is Global Digital.
Also I had to give it one star because amazon does not let you send a review without putting at least a star, but this should've been minus ------5stars

Good afternoon, I received the Global Digital Charger
today and right away put my battery BP-945 to charge I
noticed that when I put the battery in the charger I
really had to push it strongly hard for the battery to
go in, once the light turned green meaning that the
battery was ready for use I took off the charger from
the electrical outlet and when I tried to release the
battery from the charger this thing is so tightly
attached that it will take the strenght of two
elephants to release the battery from the charger.
After almost 30 minutes of constant fighting and
pushing the battery finally came out but in two pieces
in other words the battery broke now I have to buy a
new battery. I am going to return this product to you
and I will like a full refund including my shipping
and handling. You should take this product off your
shelves this is very dangerous the battery could've
leaked and cause a bigger damage to myself or somebody
around me. Please let me know what do I have to do to
return this product to you and get my money back and
also I would like to know if I can be compensated for
the $50.00 battery that I just lost and now I have to
replace.

I hooked up this camera to my iMac DV, connected it to the Firewire conneciton, turned on the computer and everything worked great the first time out. I was able to create, edit, and produce a Web film in less than a day.

a great dv camcorder.......2000-03-07

I've owned the ultura since late January and so far have been completely satisfied with it.. is has a great range of features and turns out incredible quality footage. I also bought a DV Capture card for my computer, and the ultura allows for easy editing of videos. The digital zoom works up to about 64x, and some of the "modes" are not very useful, but all around, it's great!

No problems.......1999-12-23

We went into the store prepared to buy the sony TR 103 and ended up with this canon. It is alot smaller than the sony and the lens is supposed to be better. One thing about these camcorders is to get the smallest one you can afford because it is so easy to take with you. As far as options, it has just about everything you need. We just turn it on and shoot.

Works fine, but battery discharges fast while in camera.......1999-12-22

This works great for me! The only problem is that if you leave the battery inside, it'll discharge even with the power off.

Doesn't have all the top of the line features, but the price is great. The zoom could have been better, but I don't have any complaints.

Problem After 2 Weeks!.......1999-12-18

My new Canon Ultura's audio isn't working after owning it only 2 weeks! Monday I'll be driving 100 miles to the nearest authorized Canon repair place. I just hope they can repair it before I go on vacation.

Plus, the zoom is fairly useless past 64X.

Also, I wish it wouldn't automatically shut off after being on pause for only a few minutes.
