A masterpiece 'Best Of' Compilation .......2005-07-04

The Corrs do nothing more or less than simply amaze me with their pure ability to capture the listener's soul and hold it in a tight rapture. I brought this CD at a second hand music dealer and it's a Australian release with 19 tracks and the bonus tracks of 'Lifting Me' and the previously unreleased 'Make You Mine'. The classic hit songs are mixed with the unreleased songs and also mixed in with this wonderful CD are several remix songs like 'All The Love in The World' and 'What Can I Do' which are two remixes that are on par with their original counter-pieces.

This CD has helped me in a time where I have had several family problems and Andrea Corr's voice has given me hope and the belief in being strong and carrying on. This Album is for everyone new Corrs fan's or old fans of The Corrs. Even if you are looking for good pop music with Gallic flavour this is the CD for you. This band is a masterpiece.

Leave Me Breathless.......2005-02-22

The Corrs' is one of the greates pop bands. It includes three women and a man. The vocalist is a woman. They use a guitar, a drums, and what makes them special...a violin. This is a great collection for all those who want their best. I think it was a little bit early to make a collection. I think it should have been made after the next album "Borrowed Heaven" or later. They have many hits but there's some tracks in the collection that could have been left off, for example the instrumental "Lough Erin Shore" (unplugged), "Dreams", and "Forgiven, Not Forgotten". They are great tracks but not perfect for this collection. There's however surprsing many great tracks: "So Young", "Runaway", "Radio" (unplugged), "Irresistible", "Breathless", "Everybody Hurts" (unplugged), "Only When I Sleep", "I Never Loved You Anyway" etc. The new track "Would You Happier" is a great one...a true hit song! "Make You Mine" is just another basic track that isn't one of the best ones. A great collection however but a little bit too early.

Just What You Would Expect It To Be.....Great!.......2004-09-19

I don't see how people can review a "best of" album and totally trash it. These songs are exactly what made the Corrs famous. I am from the US, and unfortunately we don't get enough musicians like the Corrs around here to show everyone what good music is. That said, onto the album. I happen to own this cd with a "bonus" bonus track after "Make You Mine", called "Lifting Me" - and I have to say that this is an excellent compilation of the Corrs' work. I gave it 4 stars, however, because a few of my favourite tracks (the instrumentals "Toss the Feathers" and "Paddy McCarthy") did not make it on here. Oh well! I keep it in my cd player all the time and would recommend it to anyone, but mostly to people who have not had the pleasure of listening to the Corrs' earlier works. Some standout tracks include "Would You Be Happier?" (I love this song on the "VH1 Presents the Corrs Live in Dublin" disc), "Forgiven Not Forgotten", and "Only When I Sleep". All in all, a great cd!

This album is really a must have but it could have been better if they had waited for borrowed heaven to be realeased and include its hits into the 'Best Of'. But still a must have for any Corrs fan!!

Please do not be deceived by the title of this item, for it is not at all labelled as the GREATEST HITS, nor is it a box set. It is just an ordinary version of the 18-track Corrs cd album THE BEST OF THE CORRS. If you should not have this item yet, then I strongly discourage you from purchasing this particular item. Instead, I would recommend to you the preceding item[ i.e. THE BEST OF( EXTRA TRACKS ) ], which is both cheaper than this item and has more to offer with the additional track "Lifting Me". There also exists another cd album THE BEST OF THE CORRS( EXTRA TRACKS ), but it has the track "Una Noche"( Spanish-language version of "One Night" sung as a duet between Alessandro Sanz and Andrea Corr ) instead of "Lifting Me". I would recommend that version as well.

Best Of = Toss the Feathers.......2002-01-24

One would wonder how a band could have a "Best Of" package with only three studio albums to their credit. Well, it is real easy if you are as talented as The Corrs. One would be concerned that a "Best Of" means the end. Not a chance. This group is just getting started. They are a unique group. Not since The Who, Steely Dan, and The Rolling Stones has a group been so intelligent and have a sound of their own (boy can they sing). They sound flawless. They can play and type of music. One word says it best "Beau-talent," from "The Right Time," "Dreams," and "Breathless." This CD is really worth buying (worth every penny). Corrs, if you are out there, you one guy and ladies rock. Keep up the great work and "Toss the Feathers."

WAY too early for a greatest hits compilation..........2002-01-13

... but nevertheless, the Corrs are the best and most talented band in the world, in my opinion. Track on the cd that definitely shouldn't be there is Give Me A Reason and maybe Irresistible as well, 'cause to my knowledge, both of them flopped. The previously unreleased song, Make You Mine, is really good, and Would You Be Happier is catchy. Don't listen to it too much, though, it starts to work on the nerves... badly.

Haven't They Come Far?.......2002-01-02

I remember seeing The Corrs for the first time as a support act to Celine Dion in 1995 & being sufficiently stunned by a new group on the block who moreover hailed from the same island as me. The opening notes of Forgiven, Not Forgotten were pure & resounding & I recall telling all my friends how big they would become - & I was right. This Best Of covers all four Corrs albums (including their Unplugged sessions) up to the overly-polished In Blue collection. What you have here is all the singles that The Corr family have released, some of which are unique - Dreams is not the same as the single version, for example - possibly their biggest ever hit. Personal faves are only When I Sleep & the last single, a brand new track entitled Would You Be Happier? They may look all chic & lovely, with plenty of pouts to keep the boys happy, but the bottom line is that The Corrs make bloody good music. The essential hits are here - the No1 UK hit Breathless, Runaway, What Can I Do?, etc. However, in order to get a glimpse of the real character of Ireland's favourite family, check out songs such as Queen of Hollywood, No Good For Me, Don't Say You Love Me or Someday. Plenty of verve in those anthems, but this CD is a worthwhile collection to play highlights from.

Heartpounding Track.......2001-11-20

The latest compilation of the group is definitely heartpounding. It is a mixture of all the greatest hits of the group which all people will love. Just check it out and for sure your penny will be worth it. I really love their track entitled Would Be Happier. And so as their music video.

perfect pop.......2001-11-17

As every good compilation, the "best of the corrs" is a CD recommended for those who like the band, but never bought one of their CDs. The music chosen to be part of this greatest hits album really represents the band work throughout the years. From "the right time" to "breathless", this CD is going to reach all the best expectations of music market and pop music fans.
Fortunately, concerned with loyal fans like me, the corrs decided to include two unreleased tracks in this CD : the mellow "Would You be Happier?" and "Make you mine", an old song they composed but never released in CD.

I've been reading critics about this album everywhere. People say that, considering this compilation CD as a whole, the band is about to end, that their pop formula does not convince anymore etc. All these comments are irrelevant!

The Best of the Corrs shows how the band changed and how ready they are to face what is coming ahead. If you are already a fan or never ever had a corrs CD, do not hesitate to buy this one.

Fore those who really like the band, try the latin america import CD, which comes with one extra track "una noche" (one night) in a duet with alejandro sanz.

If you're a collector of all things Corrs then beware. This is the import version from Europe. The cover is nothing more than the "Home" CD.
Otherwise it's a great coupling of the Band's latest release along with their biggest hits.
