If you are a Spinners fan, this is a must purchase. It condenses many of their albums on to 5 CDs.
Maybe a bit too much.......2000-12-29
The Spinners was arguably the greatest soul/r&b group of the 70's, rivaling even the O'Jays, another great group from the Philadelphia label. However, as with many box sets, this set is aimed primarily at collectors and die-hard fans, collecting numerous tracks that have been difficult to find on CD over the years. Most people, even longtime fans, are better served by the definitive double-disc set, "One of a Kind Love Affair." Covering their early years with Motown through their peak period of Philly Soul, that set has everything you need. Fans who want a bit less, i.e. just the big, major hits, are advised to get "The Very Best of the Spinners."
