About the Artist
Hailing from Saratoga Springs, The Sixfifteens formed in 2002 after Bob Carlton and Joel Lilley's first band (DRYER) broke up. The Sixfifteens original lineup of consisted of Bob, Joel and Gene Davenport (Bob's brother in law) on bass. After several months of playing as a three piece the band decided stretch out the sound by adding another guitar player. They just needed to find the right person to fill the slot. Fortunately they didn't have to look far. A chance meeting at a local sandwich shop that Bob would occasionally frequent proved to be the solution to what they were looking for. Jeff Fox, a recent Cornell University grad, was looking to play in a band and The Sixfifteens was exactly what Jeff was looking for. The bands first show together as a four piece proved to be very exciting since their first time playing together as a four piece was at sound check. Now complete, the band was able to move forward and experiment with more sounds. Things were going great for The Sixfifteens until late 2002, when Gene Davenport decided to step down as bass player. Finding a bass player proved to be much harder than finding a guitar player. After several months of auditioning bass players, the band got desperate and decided to post an online ad. Matt Bombard was the only person to answer the ad. Luckily for The Sixfifteens, Matt proved to be the right person. After one rehearsal, the band knew that they didn't have to search any further. Matt got the job and found himself playing a show the very next day in NYC. With a solid lineup, the band has been progressing forward musically and has recently signed a deal with the New Jersey based indie label Fake Chapter Records.
