The music is Mozart's and is fantastic. The last piece on the first disc
stutters halfway through, and seizes up my system. I don't have time to return items to Amazon. On the positive side, most of the time Amazon provides quality products and service. I gave 3 stars because I love the music.

A good collection of his best work and I find it helps me focus when I'm writing or contempating life.

"We exposed these animals [rats] in utero and then sixty days after birth to different types of auditory stimulation and then we ran them in a spatial maze. And sure enough, the animals that were exposed to the Mozart completed the maze faster and with fewer errors. And now what we're doing is we're removing their brains so we can slice them and see neuro-anatomically precisely what has changed as a function of this exposure. So it may be that this intense exposure to the music is a type of enrichment that has similar effects on the spatial areas of the hippocampus of the brain." --Dr. Frances Rauscher

Dr. Frances Rausher sums up what I feel happening when I expose myself to this incredible composer (Mozart).

I have yet to grow tired of any of the tracks yet, but I will invest in more of his work soon.

This is a review of Mozart's music, not the cd. Mozart is praised to the skies by all and sundry, including most musicians, including my father, who no doubt has his reasons. But my feeling about Mozart has always been that there is nothing in Mozart's music that is other than music. There is no logical impressionism, there are no events that seem to be transpiring as in, for example, Beethoven. Mozart is just music. Mozart is to music as pure mathematics is to science. It hints of nothing else and has no application. I find some of his music irritatingly trivial, for example, Eine Kleine Nachtmuzic. This is mechanical music that one can imagine being piped in by a totalitarian government that insists everyone be cheerful. If Disneyland was an eighteenth century totalitarian state, Mozart would be its Muzak. The populace would be awakened, like Chinese train passengers, at 6AM by the strains of some allegro. They would arise and busy themselves with their ablutions in a state of thoughtless cheer, never for one moment leaving the surface of things. That being said, the second movement of Mozart's clarinette concerto is the music that one will hear on going into heaven.

    Well I was reluctant to buy this CD solely because it has T-Nutty's name on it. After one quick listen mainly the songs Nutty rapped on, I was a little unimpressed. However, after careful listening of the whole cd it was better than I had expected. The beats were fresh. The lyrics were aiight, and all in all it's a good cd. Definately good enough to hold me over until "Nutt Factor" or the Nutt Facor Project comes out. Look out for those.

    CWay is on fire. Never heard of No Love or CWAY till I bought Lyrical Octane and that cd was tight. Then I just got this CD today and it is pure heat. Atleast 10 really tight songs on here after listening to the cd 1 time. Instant fire. Waiting on the Nutt Factor Project to get here and I heard that is bangin too.

    This is one of the best cd's I have ever bought/heard in my life and I am picky wit my taste of music. If you are down with the west coast underground scene (not that hyphy ish..) but the real west coast gangsta beats then this cd is a best buy. Nearly half the songs on the cd are real deal make you wanna bump n never get old type of tracks. The best song on the cd I must say is "Dont Get Your Jaw Broke" by Triple Beam who also are loaded with cutz. Also check out "Highway Music" by Gangsta Dre, and "Do You Want Funk" by Jubie. And that aint it, lets just say there is plenty more where that came from.

Highlights from the operas include sopranos Renée Fleming and Anne Sofie von Otter poignantly sighing through the farewell trio from Cosí fan tutte, Bryn Terfel singing Don Giovanni's charming, chilling serenade, and Sumi Jo shattering glass in the Queen of the Night's aria from The Magic Flute. Other great moments include legendary horn player Barry Tuckwell in the finale from the fourth horn concerto, King's College Choir singing a ghostly Ave Verum, and revered Mozartian Radu Lupu playing the slow movement of Piano Concerto No. 21 ("Elvira Madigan"). Obviously, with recordings from so many different times and places, the acoustics and recording levels vary between tracks, so a little ear adjustment is necessary, but quibbles aside, this is a generous compilation of some great playing and singing. --Warwick Thompson

    This CD has a great selection of Mozart for fans, or people who have heard the melodies but haven't placed the composer with them. It includes Piano Concerto 21 II andante, Jupiter Symphony Finale, the famous Clarinet Concerto, wich is incredibly brilliant, and Rondo Alla Turca, a very smartly written sonata. It also has probably the most famous classical piece ever, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, The most famous Opera, Le Nozzie Di Figaro, and the very famous Piano Sonata 15 in C Major, "Sonata Facile".
    Not only does this CD set have a good selection it is all crisp and cleanly played. I particualry enjoy the Jupiter Finale, which is so cleanly played I felt I was watching it live. I suggest buying this wonderful set for your Mozart collection.

    Although the perfect summary to Mozart needs many more than 2 CDs, this set is like a summary of a summary of one of the greatest composers to ever live (probably the best). Within these two CDs are all the Mozart melodies that you know along with melodies you know you knew, but didn't know Mozart had written. It's a great introduction to the music of Mozart as well as a great addition to a collector's collection. This set offers some snippets from works that have been out of the catalog for a number of years. The playing and sound on the two CDs is consistently high and excellent. The performers are great. In effect, the CD is a great compilation. Decca really sets out to make these "Greatest Show" albums live up to their names (i.e. The Greatest Mozart Show on Earth).
