I was completely oblivious to the existence of T-connection until "Girl Watching" brought the group very firmly to my attention. Relying entirely on the radio DJ's choice of tracks meant "Girl Watching" and "Goombay Time" were all I knew of T-connection, but so impressed was I with the former track that I felt my collection was incomplete until I had this album! I purchased a copy of this CD mid 2005 - about 20 years later!!

The biggest difficulty I find with the 'oldies' is that tracks you were not into at the time, or were simply not familiar with have an even more difficult task of winning you over in the later years because they sound somewhat dated and obviously do not have that "good ol' memories" card to play! In otherwords, they have to be VERY GOOD to impress!

Well, this album stands up to this scrutiny and more!!

"Pure & Natural" has been quite an eye opener for me regarding what T-connection is all about!! I had the group down as uptempo disco beats but I now stand corrected. T-connection are actually better at the mid-tempo stuff! - and that's got to be saying something!

"The best of my love" is superb and has a timeless ring to it - the sort that you simply love forever. "A little more love" does not disappoint and "Slippin' away" is simply outstanding!

If the reader is going to pick ONE T-connection album to add to their collection from a list that includes even the ubiquitous "best of" compilations, then "Pure & Natural" would be my uncontested recommendation.

Pros: Not a one track album! Excellent composition, timeless melodies, superb mid-tempo and slow tracks and if that is not enough, features "Girl Watching"!

Cons: May not suit those after uptempo "dance classics" only.

Verdict: This album does not disappoint if you are as much into your dance classics as your mid-tempo and slow grooves! GET IT!

By mostly including tracks from the classic "Everything is Cool" album, this should be a very good compilation of the band's mature sound.
"The Best of My Love" , as others mentioned is a very nice track, it has a distinctive T. Connection sound. Although I think that "Paradise" stands out as the band's masterpiece.
Another album by T. Connection that should also be rereleased is "Totally Connected".

This album receives 5 stars just for the "Best of My Love". This is an out of sight song I love it I listen to it a million times and that wouldn't be enough times. But if you like Classic Soul and ClassR&B then I would recommend that you buy this album. You would definitely enjoy "Best of my Love".

This is a great old school CD. It has two of the best old school love songs ever written, "Best of My Love" and "A Little More Love". There are also a couple of nice surprises in between, including "Paradise". The rich and pure vocals quickly take you back down memory lane. This is a must have for all the "old schoolers" out there.

As a former member of this Bahamian band and composer of the title track "Everything is Cool" I can state that the compilation " Everything is Still Cool " on Capitol Records represents the band's transition from disco to R&B.

The band attained its greatest measure of success during the late 70's while signed to 'TK' records.'TK' records was the label responsible for the Miami sound at that time with the likes of K.C and The Sunshine Band, Bobby Caldwell and many others. The song entitled "Do What You Want to do " (on TK records) by the T Connection went number one on Billboard magazine's disco chart for several weeks and was nominated for a grammy in 1977 but lost out to Thelma Houston's "Don't Leave Me This Way".

The Album "Everything is Still Cool" contains an interesting blend of music that incorporates certain elements of Earth Wind and Fire's style along a unique blend of rock and Island music from the Bahamas, Namely goombay and Junkanoo music.

    Album Description

    T-Connection were formed in the Bahamas in 1975, but shortly after forming decided Miami, Florida would be a better place for their music. Once there they signed to the TK Records disco label Dash, where they release their first album, Magic, and one of the first singles to be released as a 12" - Do What You Wanna Do - a classic disco track that always fills the dance floor. In the UK this was soon followed by more disco with On Fire which reached the top 20, and further top 75 hits with Let Yourself Go, At Midnight, Saturday Night and Totally Connected - all included on this collection. After this success they signed with Capitol Records where they continued to have further hits singles including Everything Is Cool which reached the UK top 20.       This two albums by T-Connection really grooves!! Much fantastic funk/disco here. I heard T-Connection for the first time just a couple of months ago, but now they are one of my favorite artists. The music is 8-10 years older than me, but still rocks like anything. Comin' Back For More must be one of the deepest funky tracks by any artist - ever.

      OK, I bought this for "Doing Alright on a Saturday Night" and "At Midnight" however, I am happy to report the entire album is very listenable from start to finish. Kind of jazzy, disco, funk and a touch of gospel on "Got to see my lady".A great double album. The one question I have is where is their song "You're moving too slow, gotta let yourself go"? I remember hearing that on WBLS back in 1978.

      These guys plundered all the right stuff-Earth,Wind & Fire,
      Bar-Kays and George Duke's influences all found they're way into
      their sound.The debut is probably the most potent with "Funkennection"-a strong George Duke-ish number,the rhythmically grooving "Saturday Night","Funky Lady" and "Come Back For More".And yes-on "Love Supreme" (NOT the Coltrane song)
      T-Connection can deliver more then vapid slow jams-romantic
      ballads are in their reach;something alot of funk bands couldn't

      I've grown up listening to T-Connection in my younger days. Their songs Spend the Night with Me, Girl Watching, Paradise, etc were very popular here back then. I never knew their early albums. Luckily this 2-1 album exist and I can hear their early works and I was astonished that it was very different than the songs I knew. I realized they have two era and this album represents their first era. It's a good place to start to know T-Connection. I hope their later albums will be released on CD.

      Having first got into this band in 1977, I bought every album (vinyl in those days) - eight in all - up their final one 'Take it to The Limit'way back in 1984. They were on the TK label, and they combined soul, funk, and carribbean influences throughout their career to brilliant effect. Whatever happened to them? I think they originated from the Bahamas? 'Do What You Wanna Do' remain a dancefloor classic all around the world. Get this CD!

          This CD contains a sampling of the group's works from the early 70's to the mid-80's. A notable absence is the disco monster "At Midnight." The CD emphasizes the post 1980, more funk-oriented work. I had hoped to find an extended version of the superb and infectious "Do What You Wanna Do," but the short version is here. The group displayed talent and enthusiasm in its recordings, and this CD gives a nice selection. It was not as complete as I hoped-- although admittedly, my bias is toward the 70's pieces.
