C'mon C'mon is a very sunny album, from its yellow-tinted cover photos and inside photos showing Ms. Crow (often looking like a completely different person, oddly enough) in sunny outdoors poses to the music itself, which often bears a distinct Rolling Stones good-times vibe, even when the lyrics are anything but happy sounding.
Ironically, the album's highlights may be its two quietest songs, "Safe and sound" and "Weather channel". Many will remember "Safe and sound" from the star-studded-yet-somber televised benefit aired shortly after the events of September 11; the album version features a fuller arrangement, but remains evocative. "Weather channel", which features guest vocals by Emmylou Harris, perfectly depicts the frame of mind of someone who has not yet begun to get over the end of a relationship. It also stands out from the rest of the album by view of the simplicity of its acoustic guitar-based arrangement.
"Missing" is the best of the three extra tracks on this edition, though Stevie Nicks fans might prefer "You're not the one", which not only features guest vocals from Ms. Nicks, but was also co-written by her.
Overall, this album will undoubtedly be played at summer barbecues all over the place, as it's got just the right sound for sunny-day listening enjoyment.
One or two stars off for the "make-it-loud-for-radio" over-use of compression in mastering, however. My ears became fatigued halfway through, and I found myself actually turning the volume *down*, not up. You can't crank it if it's already been cranked, folks...

I was a fan and neighbor to Alzo for many years. I loved his music since I saw him live in 1973. Unfortunately Alzo passed away on February 2, 2004 after suffering a heart attack. He will be missed.

This singer's music (Alzo) has been on my mind off and on for many years and I have been looking for Alzo's first album for as long with no success to date. Fun songs you will hum or sing
along with - unusual but melodic.

I can only vouch for Alzo's original release "Alzo", a solo album. Back in 1970 Hartford CT there was a small New England (but hip) record chain called "Integrity in Music" that was just that. They ran a radio ad about that hard to find but gotta have folk album "Alzo". It was hard to find anyone who knew much about him. His ballads, and evocative all-original songs, exquisite 12 string quitar, piano and vocals surpassed anything I'd ever heard, and I was a big fan of Batdorf & Rodney, Aztec Two-Step, Buffalo Springfield, Tony Jo White. Perhaps someday someone will release a CD of the original "Alzo" solo. The duo album "Alzo & Udine" was good, but not up to the stellar solo album. His full name is Alzo Fronte, his best tunes are "Looks Like Rain", "You know me, I know you". I'd play it in the car and passengers would just stop talking and say "fantastic, who is that?". Now if anyone knows about an even more obscure genius, Dick Trakey and his album "Riverman", well life on planet Earth would be complete. Would like to hear from ...............
