3 out of 5 stars Solid southern rock - you will not be disappointed.......2003-02-13

Doc Holliday might not be the most well known band in history...

Like others wrote - this is southern rock - in the same vein as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, Southern Rock Allstars to name a few. It's a solid effort and in my opinion Doc Holliday is a better band than say Molly Hatchet but not quite as good as Blackfoot.

4 out of 5 stars Old good Southern R&R.......2002-04-03

Sorry for my english, I'm French but I like the southern R&R. Doc Holliday is very good but don't forget with Lynyrd Skynyrd & Molly Hatchet... Point Blank (1st & sd LP), The Outlaws, 38 Special (Special delivery by exemple), Rossington Collins Band, Johnny Van Zant Band. and other. If you can other group in this style of music, write me...

4 out of 5 stars I like it !.......2001-07-08

...If you like Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Skynyrd & the Allman Bros. and good 'ol southern rock...you'll like Doc Holliday. Doc Holliday's CD "Rides Again" is also good !

4 out of 5 stars Great Southern Boogie.......2001-04-15

If you know what Southern Boogie is, and like it, then this is an album that you must add to your collection. Doc Holliday was a regionally popular band in the Southern Rock genre in the late 70's early 80"s. This, their first album , brought them some success and they opened many shows for bands like Molly Htchett, 38 Special and the like... I saw them in a small bar in VA Beach in 81. That was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Doc Holliday can rock ala Molly Hatchett with their guitar army, and they can boogie such as the Allmans.

5 out of 5 stars Doc Holliday REALLY rides again!.......2005-03-29

It's amazing how many old titles are finally seeing the light of day on CD. I made the mistake of trashing my LP of this album and have regretted it ever since. Southern Man really rocks - it's not the Neil Young song. It features a great smoky-sounding vocal, and an even better guitar-driven ending. Don't Go Talkin' has a dual lead singer approach that sounds fresh. Don't Stop Lovin' Me is an awesome Southern Blues-Rock tune, and of course, Lonesome Guitar is one of their signature cuts. Not all of the tracks on this effort were stellar (I could do without a song about how much someone loves his car), but this album is full of gems, especially if you are new to "southern rock", or you've never heard this group before. If you want a great introduction to Doc Holliday, this is the CD to start with!
