A GREAT ALBUM!!!.......2006-08-31

Like most, I bought this CD because I was a fan of Cree's acting and I was admittedly curious. When I listened to it the first time, I remember thinking "SHE CAN SING!"

Once I got over that, I listened to it again and got lost in its magic.

Cree's has a powerful and distinctive voice. It soars on the bouncy, "Revelation Sunshine," floats on the haunting, almost ethereal "Miss Moon," and overwhelms you with its demands on "Curious White Boy." Her lyrics are smart, provocative and poetic. Listening to the tracks is like a good friend telling you a story about something close to their heart. You hears whispers of Joni Mitchel, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow and even Joplin and then you realize the Cree is an original and must be considered on her own terms.

And if this is not enough, Lenny Kravitz's guitar and voice rises and falls on selected tunes adding depth and sweetness but his presence does not eclipse the prodigious talent of Ms. Summer.

This collection is a treasure. I have bought at least six copies for my friends and each of them has become a convert.

I hope that Cree makes another CD. I cannot wait to see what she has to say next.

Cree Summer is a Star.

Her resume reads like she should be winning a lifetime achievement award soon: Original Voice of Penny from Inspector Gadget, the voice of Suzie from Rugrats, voice of Foxxy Love from Drawn together, the Voice of the sexy green M&M from the commercials, a main character on 'A Different World,' one of the models at the end of Michael Jackson's 'Black or White' video, and this hot CD from 1999.

Girl you got it going on! "Timeless" is one of the best adjectives to describe Street Faerie. Lenny Kravitz acts a producer and so this CD is very earthy meets funky. My favorite track is 'Curious White Boy' (the bass line is wicked), and "Deliciously Down." What Cree achieves is the near impossible: 13 songs, all well written, none sounding like the other. I guaruntee you the only reason the CD sold only 40,000 copies is because Sony didn't promote it!

Why did I wait so long to find this CD? Great songs beginning to end. Lifts your spirit. Someone confortable with themslves as a person, and tell you why in a way for you to seek your own peace. Very revealing on tracks to allow us to know Cree and not the persona from Different World. Hope this is a sleeper hit to allow us to have more from Cree. She is a friend we all need.

What The Heck Is This?!.......2006-06-20

This CD is nothing but a bunch of noise and every song on here sounds the same. Cree Summer needs to stop singing and go about her business of doing cartoon voices. I can't believe she put this album out. And I still can't believe that her brother's name is Rainbow. Lenny Kravitz? That guy has no talent or style whatsoever. He annoys me. Skip this.

Sony must have been on crack..........2005-12-10

Man, this record was definitely a breath of fresh air when it came out in the summer of '99. I remember going to see her open for Lenny Kravitz on his Live '99 tour after this album was released. So many different elements at play here, but none seem to intrude each other's space or compromise the integrity of the project. DAMN, this is a great album! Sony must have been either too coked up or funneling too many dollars into Mariah's 'Rainbow' album (which also came out that year) to promote this record. I was working at a record store when this was released. When I saw the record company wasn't promoting it, I just opened a copy and started playing it. One Saturday, I kept it on repeat in the store and sold 30 copies! Hope she comes back with a follow up soon. This definitive piece formally separates Cree Summer from her crazy Freddie character from A Different World and Elmyra from Tiny Toons. Destined to be an obscure collectors item and sonic gem. Ok, I think I've said enough....

FANTASTIC.......2005-03-25

The album STREET FAERIE is a perfect visit into the mind of Cree Summer. Definitly one of the most innovative albums of the 90's .. the producer credits belong to Lenny Kravitz himself. I literally stumbled across this album, and I have bought it so many times to give to many of my friends. It is just quality music and a great delivery of sound. Highly Recommended This Album!

This album is one of the most overlooked albums of the 90's! The lyrics are deep and meaningful, and you hear it reflected in Cree's vocals. She is honest and pure. If you don't have this album already, shame on you! Buy it now, this is a must have!

Cree Summer has the voice of an Angel.Try out a sample of "Mean Sleep" and Im sure you'll be hooked.This is one of the Most Refreshing Artist to come on the scene in a while.You cant go wrong with this one.~
